Superior to SodaStream
I have had SodaStream for years and needed to purchase a new sparkling water maker but found this Philips machine and thought I would give it a try as it had decent reviews. The PHILIPS machine is far superior to the SodaStream, in my humble opinion. It is sleek, attractive, and more importantly it's functionality far exceeds the soda stream. Quite happy with my purchase and highly recommend!

Good value, perhaps oversimplified
It works totally fine and I'm happy with my purchase. I just wish there was more control over the pressure release. You're either adding CO2 or letting the pressure out. There's no position of the button that lets it jus dwell at the target pressure for a moment. If you could do that I feel it would dissolve more CO2 without using so much of the canister to do multiple pulses.

Missing Rubber Seals
This is the second time I’ve made this purchase and both times one bottle in each box was missing the rubber seal in the cap. This doesn’t hole carbonation without a rubber seal. When you compare the seal to the original stainless steel bottle, the seal is much thicker, which helps to retain a much stronger level of carbonation. I can’t buy another one because the seals are missing. ** Update ** Superb customer service! They replaced my defective bottles and included shipping. I never once had to reach out, with concerns for replacements, this was tackled automatically. I highly recommend this product!

SodaStream vs Philips vs DrinkPod - Purchased the latter two myself to try, and tried SodaStream at another house to compare SodaStream: - +++Bubbles - Many choices of bottle shapes and sizes - Frizzing water only - Ugly and large Philips: - +Bubbles - Must use ice cold water to get some bubbles, hardly frizzy - Many choices of bottle shapes and sizes (interchangeable with SodaStream ones) - Frizzing water only - Slim, many color options - Cheapest DrinkPod: - +++++Bubbles - One bottle size only - Frizzing & refrizzing anything, even if flavored - Slim, super sleek and pretty In the end, I pick DrinkPod. Satisfied!

Mixed results with two units
I got my first unit in January and it has been great. I replaced an ancient Sodastream unit and the Philips has performed exactly as expected. However, I bought a second unit for a sibling and it had the problem some other reviewers ran into; it would release much more gas when pressuring the bottles. It was easy to hear the difference and know it was not working correctly compared to mine. Unfortunately, if someone had never used one, I doubt a new user would notice it wasn't working properly. Short story: 1st unit great, 2nd unit not. Better quality control needed.

Schöner Sprudler, naja von Philips... In Summe nerviges Gasflaschen Konzept (Markenunabhängig)
Der Sprudler macht einen guten Eindruck... Ok ist aber eigentlich auch nur eine Ventilbedienung für einen Gaszylinder. Ansich bietet die Philips Seite kaum nützlich Infos vor allem welche CO2 Zylinder kompatibel sind etc. In Summe finde ich dass etwas wenig Kohlensäure im Getränke ist. Aber das Design ist nett und stabil. Ich habe zusätzlich die Sodastream Flaschen gekauft, die Version Spülmaschinen tauglich Kunststoff schwarzer Boden von Sodastream passt einwandfrei! JEDOCH sollte man sich ein paar Sachen bewusst sein. Die CO2 Flaschen Thematik, manche Geschäfte nehmen nur die vom Marktführer zurück, anderen ist das egal. Kauft man sich eine 2. Flasche kostet diese ca. 15€ aufwärts plus Füllung. Die 15€ sind an sich verloren! Bei Rückgabe bekommt man 0€ oder beim Marktführer sollen es 3,5€ sein. Also nicht wie bei Grill-Gasflaschen. Möchte man Sirup zum Mischen ist man bei ca. 0,55€ pro Liter Getränk plus ca. 0,10€ Kohlensäure. Also 0,65€ pro Liter Cola etc. Das Gerät oder Zusatzsprudelflaschen noch nicht gerechnet. Naja günstig ist anders... Aber die Thematik haben alle Sodamaker. Grundsätzlich ist nicht soviel Kohlensäure auch bei öfteren Sprudeln im Getränk wie bei Kaufcola etc. UPDATE: aktuell verwende ich die Flaschen von Al**sued. funktionieren ohne Probleme.

Funktionierender, ästhetisch ansprechender Wassersprudler
Ich habe diesen Wassersprudler mittlerweile acht Wochen in Gebrauch. Ich kannte bisher nur den deutlich teureren von Aarke und kann daher sagen, dass der von Philips diesem in nichts nachsteht. Ein paar Details: - Ich habe mir direkt eine zweite Kunststoffflasche von Philips dazubestellt und bin somit gut ausgerüstet. - Kartuschen kaufe ich von Waterworks über das Tauschprogramm dort; da kann man auch die mit dem Sprudler mitgelieferte Kartusche zurückgeben. Probleme, passende Kartuschen zu finden, hatte ich nicht; bei den Anbietern der Kartuschen ist stets angegeben, ob diese mit dem Sprudler von Philips kompatibel sind. Daher sind hier die Kosten auch nicht höher als bei anderen Sprudlern. Ich bin mehr als drei Wochen mit einer Kartusche ausgekommen, bei mir entspricht das ungefähr drei Kästen mit 12 x 0,75-Liter-Glasflaschen Mineralwasser, die ich nicht mehr besorgen und schleppen muss. Jetzt in Woche 8 habe ich gerade die dritte Kartusche eingeschraubt. - Ich habe keine Schwierigkeiten beim Sprudeln des Wassers; das "Kratzgeräusch" taucht bei mir jeweils nach ca. 5 bis 6 Sekunden auf. Ich sprudle immer zweimal, weil ich "medium" sprudelndes Wasser nicht besonders mag. Ich habe dabei kein übersprudelndes Wasser erlebt und keine Defekte zu beklagen. Vielleicht haben die Nutzer, die sich darüber beklagen, den Sprudler nicht sachgemäß verwendet? - Das Einschrauben der Flaschen kenne ich nicht anders; beim Aarke-Sprudler geht das genauso. - Wem es nicht gefällt, dass man in Kunststoff-Flaschen (BPA-frei) sprudelt, der kann sich Glasflaschen z. B. von Voss dazukaufen und das Wasser aus den Kunststoffflaschen umfüllen. So kann man z. B. Gästen das Wasser auch ästhetisch ansprechend anbieten. - Mir gefällt, dass kein Extra-Arm wie beim Aarke-Sprudler vorhanden ist, sondern man den großen runden Kopf auf dem Oberteil drückt. Dadurch ist der Sprudler noch schlichter und geradliniger im Design und ich halte eine weiteres Verschleißrisiko für reduziert. Mein Fazit ist, dass ich bisher rundum zufrieden bin mit dem Sprudler und diesen uneingeschränkt empfehle.
