Overall this seems to be a well built product, I am buying it to replace a 15 year old factory access plate that has started to crack. I do wish that it was a twist and pull design like my old one vs being fully threaded requiring one to spin it fully on or off, also the plat threads are fairly fine pitched so you have to make sure it is straight before reattaching the cover plate. It may be good for compartments you rarely need to access, but has its short comings for places that need frequent entry, partly due to what has been mentioned already, and partly because the finger grip area is a bit shallow.
