Not a replacement for standard RV cam lock

This lock works well and has a nice fit and finish but it is not a 'plug and play ' replacement for the standard cam lock found on many RV cargo hatches. The spring catch is not long enough and requires the field installation of a 'strike' (customer supplied) to latch properly. Not a bad product just not usable in my application.

A 1/2 too much

These are mislabeled as 1" but are 1.5" shaft length. They will not work on a camper door. The company acknowledged the error, but RV Designer does not make a 1".

Defective

The finish cap was threaded crooked and cannot be installed. There was only 2 threads on one side and the threads are gouged deep into the other side. Note how crooked the cap sets in the photo.

Didn’t make it past 1 slam

This thing blew apart at the seams the first time I used it.

Poor quality, unserviceable.

This lock is poorly constructed, relying on a thin pewter to hold the lock body to the latch. A couple firm whacks with a mallet is all it would take to break it. Additionally, the lock core is permanently mounted and cannot be removed for rekeying. Don't waste your money.
