Physically small
These are physically shorter base to top than any other 100W equivalent LED bulb I've been able to find. I use them for fixtures which were designed for lower wattage incandescent bulbs (and can safely use these LED bulbs because of the lower power consumption), and they're the only LED bulbs of this wattage which will fit. They're at least as reliable as any other LED bulbs I've used.

Decent LED bulbs
This review is the for the 16 pack, daylight bulbs I have been working to replace old bulbs as they go out with LED’s, for energy savings of course, but also because I don’t like the fact that the other bulbs have mercury in them and are hard to recycle and dispose. The box indicates on the outside that the bulbs are 60-watt equivalents. The bulbs have a bright blue/white light. They turn on instantly with no noise and have very little heat emitted, which is another benefit to LED’s. These particular bulbs are not dimmable. The bulbs have a plastic housing and plastic lenses which appears to be typical of LED bulbs. The bulbs appear to be sturdy with the metal socket solidly attached to the plastic housing. The bulbs fit in most standard sockets as they look like the standard older incandescent style bulbs. I use these in my recessed can lighting and my ceiling fan lights. One of the main reasons I like LED lighting is that they don’t contain mercury like CFL’s do. Like CFL’s these are more energy efficient than conventional bulbs. The boxes indicate that the bulbs have a 10-year lifespan, roughly 11,000 hours. In the fine print on the box, that is 3 hours a day. Realistically, these bulbs will last far less than 10 years and probably be in the 3-year range. It seems all brands of LEDS make this type of grand claims with their bulbs’ lifespan. I have tried a variety of brands of LEDS and none have made it past a couple years of regular use. These are priced slightly higher than the number of generics that are out there. I went with Philips because of the name brand and because these have a 3-year warranty on the bulbs. If I can get 3 years of use out of the bulbs, I will be satisfied. I will update my review with any durability issues. The bulbs seem to be good quality with good brightness. It remains to be seen how durable they will be long term and how difficult it will be to get them replaced under warranty. 4 stars

My previous bathroom lights would always flicker when dimmed, these dont
High marks for not flickering when dimmed. Three in my bathroom, but i wish they were brighter. One in my bedroom is perfect.

Great porch light
Quality as always from philips. Great light that I installed on my porch and the cool spiral of the exposed filament adds a nice touch!

Looks great while it works. Poor longevity. Virtually worthless warranty.
We're all used to seeing incandescent bulbs that emit an attractive amber color when dimmed. But when most LED bulbs are dimmed, the color of the light doesn’t change. This Warm-Glow LED bulb from Philips is different. When you dim the bulb the color becomes more amber, just like an incandescent bulb. Incandescent bulbs can be dimmed down to the point where only a deep orange glow is visible. This LED Bulb from Philips cuts off before it reaches that point. Other than that, it simulates the dimming characteristics of an incandescent bulb quite well. At full brightness the color is 2700K (the same as a warm-white incandescent bulb). The outer shell of the bulb is made of clear glass (not plastic). The light output is not frosted or diffused. I like the fact that the "rods" within the bulb give it an antique appearance. Some LED bulbs contain a circuit board that's located above the base of the bulb. This blocks the light output near the base, and creates an undesirable shadow in some types of light fixtures. The Philips LED bulb doesn't have this problem, because the circuit board is recessed deep within the base. In regards to brightness, I’d say this bulb (rated at 800 lumens), is more or less the same as a 60 watt incandescent. The biggest difference is that it only uses eight watts of electricity to do the job. It also doesn't get anywhere near as hot as a 60 watt incandescent. Dimmer Issues: My home is eighteen years old. Many of my original light dimmers wouldn't work properly with these bulbs. I changed all of my old dimmers to compatible Lutron models and now they work fine. If you're not sure whether or not your dimmers will work with this bulb, simply give them a try. Philips has a dimmer compatibility chart at their website you can reference. Longevity: I have over a dozen of these bulbs in use all over the house. Philips says they'll last thirteen years (more on that below). They come with a five year warranty (more on that too). But in approximately one year, I've already replaced two bulbs because they only put out about half as much light as they did when they were new. Warranty: It’s certainly not as good as you think it is. You should know that Philips is using a bit of "fine print" trickery in their language. On the back of the package in very small print (and in very low contrast colors that are difficult to read), Philips says: "LED lifetime means the length of time (in years) until half of the LED light sources maintain at least 70% of their initial lumen output, where the lamp is used on average 3 hours/day.” What does this really mean? It means that the warranty is virtually worthless! There are four illuminating rods inside the bulb. What person would consider this bulb to still be acceptable if two of the four rods were only putting out 70% of their original light? What’s more, what about applications where the bulb is being used for more than three hours per day? I guess that rules out using this product as a night light or a light on your porch. In my case, the two bulbs that I replaced were being used for about six hours per day. In doing so, I suppose I violated the warranty. I didn't contact anyone at Philips regarding my bulbs. I don’t have the time or the patience to hunt for receipts. These bulbs work well...until they don't. Some of the light fixtures in my home are rarely used. I suppose the bulbs in those fixtures will be fine, and may actually last several years. We'll see. In the mean time I'm looking for something with equal performance, but with greater longevity and a better warranty.

I am very light sensitive.
I had been resisting buying LED lights for my home because I HATE led light, and I can see some of it flickering. I love the color of old incandescent lights, and since I live in CA, and all my old lights were burning out one my one, I begrugingly ordered these lights in the 2700 K and the 3000K. I HATED the 3000K, for all the reasons I hate LEDs. The light is way too blueish and it hurts my eyes. However, the 2700, was tolerable, close to nice, but not quite. They are really too many lumens, and the light is too bright. It's mildly annoying in the hall and in my outside lights where it lights up my whole front yard, like no incandescent ever did (talk about light pollution), but where it really is over the top is in my lamps. I want calm, yellowish reading light and this is a bit too much. No one seems to be making a lesser lumen light bulb in the 2700K color. SIGH. So I bought a smaller pack and then came back for more. I don't love these, but I have never loved LED lights. Thank someone's god that they got rid of that dust collecting spiral design that was impossible to clean. So, if you hate LED's like me, these will suffice, and they are better than some others out there.

VERY yellow/orange
My 5yo calls it "pumpkin light". Accurate. I should have paid closer attention to the colour temperature. We'll use it as a night light, but it's too yellow for anywhere else in the house.

Do what they are supposed to do without noise, but with an added bonus
We put five of these in a dining room fixture. We were looking for bulbs that when dimmed do not make noise. These bulbs satisfy in that regard. They dim very low without flickering and with all of the bulbs producing uniform brightness (rather than some of bulbs being brighter than the others as with others we have used). An added bonus is the fact that at the lower setting, there is a warmer (more amber) colour, but when we turn them up, they become cooler in colour (more white light). In the rest of the house, we have cooler light in work areas like the kitchen, washroom, study, and library and warmer light in the living room and bedrooms. In the dining room, it is wonderful to have both-- if we are using the dining table for work or are cleaning up or are having a kid's birthday celebration, we want bright white light but if we are having an intimate evening meal, we want dimmer warmer light. This is an unusual feature that we are quite pleased with. This would actually do well in the living room or even a bed room.

100 watts is 100 watts
These bulbs are doing what I wanted them to do and that is, give me 100 watts of light.....daylight lumens. I like these light bulbs and will be buying more of them, because they do what they say they will do.

Classy and great Amber Light
These were expensive but worth the money...other bulbs did not give me the same quality Amber effect that these provide. Will update with a night photo. They look very nice and I love the glow which is what I was going for ????

Best Incandescent replacement
I've tried a bunch of dimmable LED now and so far this is the best. Pro - no flicker - no hum - Dims lower than comparable bulbs Con - slightly more pricey - won't dim as low as incandescent, but this shouldn't surprise anyone (I hope) Keep in mind you NEED a compatible/quality dimmer that supports LEDs. Not all are created equal. My house is filled with the z-wave leviton dimmers. The magic with this bulb is it goes down to 2200K when dimmed. I have similar Philip's bulbs that are stuck at 2700k and the percieved change in brightness is significant. I have halogens on the same switch as this in one room and before using it dimming looked noticabley odd. Halogens were very orange while the LED very white. Much better now.
