Good way to secure. Works as promised
I have ben looking for a way to be able to lock my bike to my truck. This provides some level of deterrence to thieves, but could be cut with a cable cutter. Easily packable. Coated cable wont scratch your gear. Hope this helps.

Better than nothing
As others have said, it's good enough to stop the casual opportunist, but face it - a 6mm steel cable isn't going to stop a determined thief. ALSO - note that the instructions are incorrect. They say to turn the key clockwise to lock - it's counterclockwise (or at least it is on mine). I fought this thing for 5 minutes until it occurred to me to try the opposite direction!

Good enough to keep
If you pull real hard you can slide the lock enough tou take a sit inside wrapped bow to stern as described, but I run mine through the scupper holes of one and the drain hole of the other and then connect them to something solid so works for me,no one can take them without cutters and then they planned ahead anyway, but I place a trail cam anywhere I place them so I plan ahead too....

Does the job
I bought two different kinds of kayak locks to see which would be better (I needed them for two kayaks). The first time I used them I thought I preferred the other one, but when I loaded the yaks back up, I found this one a lot easier. I like that you can adjust the length of the cable. And with a bit of practice, I can operate the lock with ease. I know that no lock will stop the determined and prepared thief, but I felt comfortable leaving my kayaks on my rack overnight. I would recommend this lock.

Well worth it, perfect product!
I was researching ways to secure my kayaks to my vehicle while on a trip, or at the campground when on a day trip and landed on this. So many similar items require winding the cable to remove slack and the reviews indicated it was a pain. This cable is so convinient, as adjustable as you need it to be, and I couldn't be happier. Sure, bolt cutters will make quick work of this, so long term storage won't make sense, but it definitely will stop an unprepared opportunist.

Seems like solid system
I like this cable set a lot, it is easy to get through the kayak scoffer holes. Am using it to lock up two 36” wide fishing kayaks. Obviously this is for the grab and snatch, I think if someone comes prepared the cable can be cut. Also because of the cable size I can run through my kayak wheels and lock around a tree. Might be easier then getting them in kayak. Again only to take away the simple temptations.
