Can't program sleep routine, app is clumsy, returned.
The wake up alarm only comes on if you manually set the sleep program the night before. For an alarm that's designed to be controlled via app and highly programmable, it has worthless functionality for a parent who needs the automation. Sometimes a sitter/family member is putting our kids to bed, or my spouse without the app does it while I am busy around the house. If it was user error, there isn't enough product information or support to have figured out the solution. I bought 2 and returned 2.

You can't switch off the light at night
The advert states "The brightness levels can be turned up and down from your phone, or the light can be turned off if your child sleeps better in the dark." this however is only partially true; the light cannot be turned off, at all. You can set the brightness to zero with the app however it only dims the light. As our daughter is long-used to sleeping in the dark, having a purple light blaring in her face is less than ideal. I bought this specifically because the ad stated the light could be turned off. Regarding setup, it's not the most finicky thing in the world and akin to setting up something like a wifi webcam. I will say though if you're not technically inclined, it can be tricky. iOS settings links to set permissions do not work correctly and require manual configuration, a notice to inform the user why they need to enable various permissions including location access (to access wifi networks) would be valuable at the beginning of the user journey so users are aware what they need to enable and why. Also the directions around 2.4ghz vs 5ghz networking could be more clearly communicated, most people have no idea what this means. I'm a software engineer and it took me two attempts and then i had to upgrade firmware, reset the whole thing and start again so.. yeah, not an ideal user experience. With all that said though, core functionality looks good and this is competitively priced. The ability to remotely configure things like wake times so as to not confuse your little one with conflicting instructions when needing to wake them early and such, is valuable. Tommee tippee just need to hone the UX in their app and honour their own functionality promises, by enabling users to disable the night light completely.

Helpful tool to get a few more minutes of sleep!!
This is a handy little tool for little ones that wake too early or won’t go to sleep at night. You can set a ‘timer’ that changes the display colour to show when it’s wake time. The timer can be different for each day of the week which is helpful to differentiate between weekdays and weekends. The brightness can be adjusted via the app so it isn’t too bright at night. Once it’s set up, it’s quite straight forward to set up via the app. We’ve found it helpful and little ones tend to stay in their room until the colour changes and then they’re off! Negatives for me are 1 - it wouldn’t connect to my wifi automatically and the instructions to set up manually weren’t straight forward enough for me to follow easily. It took me about 3 goes and then it worked. Was really easy to set up once it connected. 2- it only works when connected directly to power. If there is a power cut it will switch off and needs to be re-set up. If your little one is handsy and disconnects the power cord, it will switch off. 3 - It needs to be positioned where the cable (usb socket) will reach. It doesn’t have a plug, just USB that you have to find a socket for and position where little ones will still be able to see it, but not grab it. If they grab it and pull the cable out, it will switch off. 4- the night or sleep function is not automatic. You cannot set up a sleep time, only a wake time. The sleep setting needs to be manually activated by the button on the back of the device. I would have found it useful to be able to set a sleep time so that children can play or read in bed and they know when it changes they should go to sleep. For me, this is a handy tool and better than nothing but there is room for improvement.

Expensive, but best on the market.
Just to confirm this review is for the latest offering with the bear motif and smartphone app (as some reviews appear to be for older models under this listing). When purchasing this sleep aid clock, I was a little dubious as to whether it would be worth the high asking price (£49.99 at time of writing). My doubts were almost instantly squashed when opening the box and seeing the build quality. This is a well built product and the size and weight is spot on. It’s far more attractive than the photos impression. It took only a couple of minutes to link the clock to the app and the apps simplicity and well thought out design is exceptional. The level of control you have over the device without over complicating things can’t be faulted. The array of colours (full prime colour spectrum) quality of the speakers and screen is excellent. You can control the brightness with a slider and there are plenty of sounds and options without being overwhelming with options. There is so very little to fault. The designers and app developers have done a cracking job. Absolutely no bugs or issues with the hardware or software at all for me (on an i-phone). The kids love it and it’s totally helped when it comes to going to sleep and not disturbing us before it’s time to rise and shine. The only criticism would be that you can only set 4 alarms, but thankfully you can have multiples days (as long as they’re at the same time) under 1 alarm. That should be ample for most people. Is it expensive for what it is, yes. Is it worth it and no doubt the best on the market, absolutely. Don’t bother spending around £30 and end up with something subpar, grab this and never look back.

Not worth the hassle and not as advertised
Firstly trying to connect this device to the app was more stressful than just having a child that doesn’t sleep. If you manage to not throw the device out the window in this process you’ll find that you cannot actually turn the light off at night as described, it always shows a light even when the brightness is turned down. Not great if you want it to be dark at night…. I can’t seem to have it connected to more than one phone either in case you thought that was possible. Wish I hadn’t thrown the box away otherwise I’d have returned it.

Disappointing and frustrating
I git this clock as i have taken the side off my childs cot and thought she might like a night light. Appreciated the fact you could vontrol via your own phone. The app and clock in theory are great but the app does not work properly. Device shows offline everytime i open the app or its unresponsive when i try to put on sleep mode. I have to unplug, restart and sometimes even that doesnt work. Its meant to make life easier but its just ending up one more thing/task i have to think about. I have to take time every sleep time to try to make it work. Its very frustrating. My 3 year old also gets very upset when it wont qork and we cant switch it to sleep time colours. The last thing i need is something that will cause upset at bedtime or nap time. Very disappointed because i cant use the clock as advertised and sold. I bought this in england to bring home to turkey with me and to be honest if i was still in england i would return it.
