Pretty colors!

Don't think of this as a "galaxy projector" but more like a lava lamp for your ceiling. This gives your room a nice, swirly, relaxing display on the ceiling or wherever you point it. It's excellent for mood lighting, or for just laying in bed and looking up at the colors when you're in the mood. Don't expect real constellations or anything, of course. This is just for fun, and it is! Five stars.

I really enjoyed this!

Full disclosure this item isn't perfect and I will note those problems, but overall I have really enjoyed it. The swirling lights and colors are soothing and I have loved falling asleep imaging them to be nebulae or auroras or flames or the shimmering surface of the sea depending upon the color. There are many color choices and variations so it should be no problem to find whatever color combinations you like. The lights covered most of my bedroom ceiling, certainly the area where I slept. There are some really good sound effects (I have especially enjoyed the thunderstorm, which varies nicely and does sound like the real thing). The machine runs for 6 hours which is plenty of time for me to have the effects while drifting in and out of sleep early on. Negatives, there are a few, but not enough to really affect my rating. They do not supply you with a power source, so you can plug into your computer or into a USB charger which you have to supply. I have several extras because I tend to be hard on phone chargers, so that wasn't a big problem for me personally. There are two music settings, one I liked at first but after a few nights I found it monotonous. I have not had that issue with the sound effects. Speakers are ok. Not great, but I don't have any real complaints with them. I wish the controls were a little more granular, having to cycle through them by hitting a button again and again is a bit tedious, though I found once I had a setting I liked, I could leave it on that and the device would remember the setting even if unplugged. The sphere the light comes form can be a bit bright, so if it glows out of the corner of your eye it might be a bit much as far as distractions. The enclosed manual warns not to look or stare into the lights themselves. I solved the issue by positioning the device so a lamp post on my nightstand blocks my seeing the light but does not interfere with the light show on the ceiling and nearby wall. I could also place it on the floor near my bed and I wouldn't be distracted by the light source itself. All in all, I really like the device and it has helped me fall asleep and if I have a touch of insomnia, I have enjoyed the light show!

FUN but laser is bright! Keep away from small children.

The media could not be loaded. This is really neat. It would be fun to fall asleep to this. I would prefer a timer mode tho, so that it would not stay on after sleeping. Lights on while sleeping disrupt your sleep cycle and can actually affect your quality of sleep. That being said, you can just buy a timer for your adapter plug in and solve that issue. There is a 6 hour timeout. If you fall asleep in the first 10 minutes, you still have over 5 hours of lights and or sound going while sleeping (I might like having the sound on for that long, but not the light). The sounds are nice, I say the one is a "fire sound" in the video, but the more I listened, I heard the "rain" sound, oops. It is not too loud, but when all is quiet, you will hear it fine. Lots of combos! Lots and lots! All depends on your preferences. Use the instructions when first operating so you are not confused by the cycles. I didn't realize there were 24 (yes TWENTY-FOUR) different light/wave options and I thought I had broke it right away. Lol. Nope, just didn't read the directions. I mention in the headline that the "laser is bright". It is. The instructions say to not stare directly into emitters but if we are honest with ourselves, we all have been "that child" who put the flashlight directly into our eye "just because". This is really bright tho and if your child has a tendency to be "that child", I would keep it out of their reach until they understand and can follow those instructions. They do state in the instructions that this is NOT a TOY and adult supervision is required. I think this would create a neat glowstick party ceiling with a discoball. A cool sleepover ceiling in the living room (you don't really sleep much at a sleepover anyways so it won't disrupt the sleep cycle...lol). Depending on your tent, it might even look cool on the ceiling of that (a parent could always turn it off after the children fall asleep). I find the price a little high, but it seems good quality. If it does not hold up, I will update review.

Kids love it, could use more functionality

I have a similar product in my 4 year old daughter's room, and every time my 1 year old son goes into her room he goes "whoooaaa" and points at the ceiling. Every. Single. Time. So, of course, I had to get one for his room too. With this you get the option of green laser stars, a nebula like design (my daughter's has a crescent moon and star), and a galaxy of flowing colors that you can customize based on what you like. Now, to get to a specific color you have to cycle through by consistently pressing a button but my daughter's is the same way. You can choose single colors (e.g. red or blue) and color mixes. You can also pick and choose what you want - if you just want stars, the nebula, or the color galaxy you can choose them separately or put them all together. The laser and lights are all very bright and crisp and definitely do a really good job of lighting up a bedroom. This could also adequately light up our living room as well. The audio - I really don't use, if I am being honest. The audio is ok, but I prefer using our smart home device for white noise vs. this machine. The only wish I have with this is that it had either a remote or an app so I can power on or off as needed as these are in my children's rooms. This is par for the course with the other light machine that we have. It is a definite hit with the kids!

Cute For Kids Room Or For Creating Ambiance ♥️

I love this star projector. It’s also a sound machine. Great for kids rooms or adding ambiance to a room in the evening. It’s also great to use the sound machine when traveling to block out noise in a condo/hotel. I recommend this!
