Parent monitor!

Not only for babies. Purchased to use with elderly mother that needs 24/7 care. Having 2 receivers is amazing. Battery life is as good as any battery powered product. Reception is great. highly recommend this product.

Awesome…so why four stars?

Great range and battery life on these. We have a little outbuilding on our property where I work and I’m able to bring the parent unit here while the girl naps. That’s been a big upgrade for me work wise during the pandemic. Also, lithium ion batteries are obviously one of the best things to happen to humanity this century. Why four stars instead of five? The power button is next to the talk button on the power unit. If you talk to your child over the monitor to reassure them when your half asleep at night, it’s possible to turn it off by pressing the wrong button. If you’re ok with the button placement, I’ve no hesitation to recommend these. The performance is excellent from the five different monitors I’ve used at various stages for different kids.

Keeping tabs on blind mother

I got this to be able to hear my elderly mother from her bedroom. So far, one month in and it's working great. My son and I take turns sleeping over at her place. She fell last month and we want to be close while she's healing. My son was there and heard her fall again, through the monitor. He was able to get to her fast and help her. She felt safer knowing he was there and heard her and got to her quickly. She was not injured this time. Luckily.

Easy to set up, great sound clarity, good range. This is the second set I have bought of these, they work great!

Must be plugged in to outlet

This is not a portable monitor, the baby unit has to be plugged into an outlet to be operational. Was hoping to use this in the car/camping, etc, but that won't be an option.

Disapponting

The units themselves seem good, but my order came without any battery and with no instruction manual. None of the units had backs on them. It made me wonder if this was formerly returned and not inspected at all. This is very disappointing and poor quality for a fairly expensive baby monitoring system.

AC power adapter is USA (110volts) only.

In this day and age, almost all products are shipped with a power supply which is able to handle both 110 and 230 volts AC. Not the case with this item! It cannot be used outside of the US without purchasing 3 new power adapters. The worrying part is that only a diligent user would realise this (luckily I’m an electrical engineer so I noticed). Anybody importing the product to another country could get caught out because if they tried using the US only power adapter which is included it would likely destroy the units. Seriously V-Tech? Whilst I do understand you want to keep costs low, we do live in a globalised world. I haven’t faced this compatibility issue with other products since the early 2000s!
