The outlet and inlet mounting screw holes did not match original
Needed to make modifications to mount the fuel pump to the engine because of the difference in mount hole size and spacing. Fuel lines had to be replaced as the inlet and outlet were angled differently from the original pump

Part got my welder running again.
I inherited an old Lincoln Electric welder that had sat for 25+ years. It needed a slew of parts to get it running again, and one of them was the fuel pump. This replacement did not fit in the original spot, but I was able to make it work with a little bit of line. Welder runs again with no issues, fuel pump works great and it actually further away from the heat of the engine than the original mounting option.

Giving this a 3 as the part is far from an exact replacement for part 692026. If you can creatively modge a mounting solution to your specific engine, the part works well. The replacement part has no mounting legs which I believe has caused some to claim the part is simply not right. Pay close attention to the instructions provided as to the proper orientation of the pump, the flat side with the orange hole should face the engine mounting holes, not to the outside. Make sure you connect the proper hoses to the ports. Also, the instructions show it mounted with one screw using the lower original mounting hole on the engine with the single port to the carburetor pointed downward. This positions the remaining ports pointing to the left. This oriented the pair of ports for fuel in and pulse is similar to the original configuration. The carb port pointing downward required a change in routing of the tube. In my case none of the original tubing require additional length or shortening. For my old 10hp briggs chipper, there was an issue with mounting the pump to the blower housing as it was previously. Using only the lower mounting hole as recommended in the instructions created an issue as anything below that mounting hole is on a bump/curve, so the pump could not mount flat/perpendicular or securely. Because of this I improvised a solution replacing the original pump mounting screw with a longer 3 inch #10-32 screw (@ $0.25), 2 washers and several mounting spacers. The spacers become the extended legs needed to extend beyond the bump. See pics. The spacers were left over from a flat screen tv mount. The choke/air cleaner cover installed over the new pump housing configuration without issue. No leaks. Engine runs well now. Hope this helps. Briggs could easily resolve this mounting issue by having 4 mounting holes (vs 2) with legs/spacers in a square pattern on the pump. It seems that would cover almost all possible mounting configurations for this pump. It would also help if the ports were marked or labeled on the pump in some manner.

Looks like a good unit. Bought it as a backup to an older engine. So I haven’t installed it yet.

Beware -- doesn't mount like the old one, just hangs by the gas line.
Don't like the terrible design of this unit. It's like they decided it would fit every engine, even if it doesn't really fit every engine. On my, the old fuel pump bolted in place on the starter cowl right next to the carb. This one doesn't come close to fitting the original mounting holes, so the instructions tell you to just shove it in behind the air cleaner casing. That's B.S. for $25. I'm worried about the vibrations wearing a hole through the gas line and starting a fire, so I ordered a $9 rebuild kit for the original fuel pump and will fix it the hard way. Really too bad that it was so damn hard to find the right number for the rebuild parts. No wonder Briggs is having business problems.

Not a good replacement
The fuel pump is not a good replacement part. Had to make a few modifications to the fuel line routing. Drill new mounting holes and cut the air filter housing to accommodate the pump. Expected a better fit for a more expensive B&S pump but it worked.

this part replaces a discontinued fuel pump
The original briggs and stratton fuel pump was 1/2 inch thick and square in shape and no longer made and this one is round and about 1/2 inch thicker. To make it fit, is going to require an extra length of tubing to be purchased because the pump will no longer be in the same position. The hose to the vacuum and fuel will have to be longer.

Direct replacement and went in easy. One slight modification to do but was easy. Lawn tractor is running as good as new now.
