Buy brand name - no regrets

Okay if you’re like me you’ve had a reliable Briggs and Stratton engine for over a decade on a toll you use maybe a few times a year. And now it’s not running well and you’re looking for a carburetor. After finally figuring out what the part number is you’re here on Amazon looking for the part and you see others at 1/3 the price. My advice, just buy the Briggs and Stratton genuine part! You’ve had this machine for ten years. Last thing you want is more headaches in a year with a lower quality part. I got my replacement carb and had it installed and running in less than 30 min. Decent directions. Make sure the diaphragm goes against the tank and then the gasket on top of that which the directions also specify. Bottom line; yes it costs about $20 more. But for me I feel great knowing it should last another 15 years without me having to mess with it.

OEM Replacement

Great OEM Replacement part. Went right on and started up on the first pull. Definitely better than the cheap Chinese knock offs

Don’t buy Chinese knockoffs

Bought a cheaper, non OEM carb from EBay and was worse and my edger ran worse than with the old one. This is OEM and works perfectly. Don’t skimp and try and save $20. I learned the hard way.

Fixed hard start problem.

I had been fighting a hard start condition on my edger for years. I replaced the diaphragm and it still did not start without starting fluid or a large number of pumps on the primer bulb. I replaced the primer bulb and still had the same problem. Come to find out that there is a check valve in the primer system that had failed. I replaced the carb and it now starts on the first pull.

OEM products work

Mower died after 15 years, so I paid a few bucks more and got this instead of a knock off based on some online comments. Went in without problems and works better than the original, starts with 1 pull instead of 2 now.

Great product to help poor running

Most definitely worth buying to restore the performance and working of a lawnmower engine once the other less costly maintenance steps have been tried since these may be the cause of poor running. hunting etc. (i.e. change oil, change diaphragm, change/clean spark plug & air filter, clean existing carburettor & fuel tank). Brilliant purchase from this supplier & Briggs & Stratton were also very helpful in identifying the exact model of carburettor I needed for my Sprint 35 engine which is fitted to a Hayter Hunter and is 25 years old. The mower is running like new. Recommend always buying an original Briggs & Stratton part rather than cheaper but inferior look alike parts.

Fitting of the gasket is critical.

If it's not done correctly, it will be difficult or impossible to start. To test if it's been done correctly, with petrol in the tank, push the red bulb. If it doesn't squirt, it's because there's air leakage in the fitting of the gasket. You’ll have to refit the carburettor to the tank taking more care with the gasket.
