Perfect costume, nice and light.

This is very thin, nylon feeling cloth, but that was perfect for what I wanted it for (I was in a desert campground during the day). It fits loosely, but for me, 5 foot ten inches (1.8 meters), it was about the perfect length. I wore a pair of white shorts underneath. As it is fairly thin, I'd advise wearing white. The edge was untrimmed, so I don't know how easily it will unravel. The gold thing I believe is supposed to be a fanon or a mozzetta. It looks a bit fragile, although it looks great in the sun. The mitre is a little plain for the Pope, but was fine. Keep it flat, as the foam that makes it stiff can get a permanent wrinkle in it. It worked great at the costume event! People kept asking me for my ring. Of course, I could not have a ring, as a ring would prove I was the Agnostic Pope and the existence (or lack) can only be a matter of faith.

A real Boom!

I am 5' 7" and 188 pounds. Bought One Size and I must say that it fits perfect, even the miter hat fits me perfect. Use it for a surprise joke on my daughter's wedding and it was an awesome success. All her friends wanted to have a photo with the "Pope". As expected for the price, fabric is not on the strong side, careful must be taken if you want to use it again but someone wearing this costume is not supposed to jump or dance or go into the floor and things like that, you are The Pope for Christ sake! We had a really good time and the pictures my daughter uploaded on facebook had been seen many many times and comments are really funny. Depending on the type of activity or party this costume really make the job.

Looking good your Holiness

I am 5'9, 175 pounds. I ordered the XL and it fit just fine. The XL would also fit someone slightly bigger with out a problem I had just a little wiggle room so it was perfect. The costume was a hit, treat it gently and it will last for a few wearings. A homemade cross made out of tinfoil wrapped around cardboard and a hockey stick wrapped in paper with religious print all over it, you will be a hit. The item arrived with black dirt on the back as if it was quickly dropped on a factory floor but I was not going to bother to worry about cleaning it off. It was money well spent and I will get more use out of it.

It was a dream come true! “Say man and wife, man and wife….!” But, the hat is a bit small.

I was asked to officiate a cousin’s wedding and was thrilled beyond belief when asked to begin with the famous lines from the 1986 classic The Princess Bride, “Mawage. Mawage is wot bwings us togeder today…” What the Bride and Groom didn’t know is that I had purchased this bishops hat. It really made the gag work! This is an inexpensive costume. If you keep that in mind you shouldn’t be disappointed. The hat barely fit my big fat head, and I didn’t wear the robe, but for the purpose this was perfect!

Philly Pope

Pope came to Philly and I wore this bad boy for a month. I became dubbed the “Philly Pope” at Temple parties. Was pretty awesome and got me laid.

Decent.

To start with - I bought this for a 10 yr old. I couldn't find one for All Saints Day in his size. The good news - he is tall for his age. The bad news - there was NO way he was tall enough for this....I ended up sewing 2+ feet up on it on the bottom and about 1.5 feet on the arms!! The material is super thin - but could definitely fit a larger man - but not anyone over a size large (without stretching). The hat was actually the best part - and by far the nicest piece. The costume was okay for the money...and worked for what we needed. But - the fabric runs easily - so be careful with it.

Pope Costume

Overall this was a great hit, everybody loved it. The costume fit me very well, but the hat was kind of tight, the material is very light. For a Halloween costume it help up well, the only problems I had were with the hat it had a lot of loose strings. Which I cut off when I pulled it out of the package, but it continued to fray a little. I think it will stand another Halloween or two which for a Halloween costume is great. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to be the pope, and make sure to go show your catholic friends.

I ordered extra large, which was a little tight for the sizing listed but definitely wearable. The hat is too small for my enormous head, but that's hardly their fault, and the material stretches so it works. A bit dissapointed about the shawl(don't know the real term), as it's a very pronounced golden color in the picture, much closer to white in person. I'd have given it four stars had the color difference been a light effect, but as I said, very pronounced, it looks like they either altered the color or this is just a different material entirely, and I don't approve of that kind of misleading. But anyway, if you're on the fence, Its really not a bad buy, just keep in mind that you're getting what you pay for.
