Happy enough to buy it a second time

I am happy enough with the boots to order them a second time. I have no complaint. I wear the boots about every other day and my first pair has lasted over a year and a half so far. I think that they will last another half a year to a year. My second pair is a back-up when the first pair's soles get too worn.

A boot that taps

My husband likes these 6inch boots for construction work but something went wrong with the manufacturing of this boot recently. We have bought it a few times over the years but this past year the boots rubber base was different. It was hard and as you step it made a tap sound, which my husband doesn’t like- he doesn’t want the entire world to know he’s walking. So we decided to return and went with a another brand. These are a soft toe boot, quality of this boot is good, the inside handles well for a year but we always buy a quality insert for the heal and arch, the leather hide is water resistant to a minimum but you can seal it with crude oil or mink oil and you are good to go for a while, the laces for this boot last only a good year which isn’t bad considering the 365 days, of loops and knots, and finally the rubber base has lasted a good 1.5 years before showing wear. If you don’t mind a tip tapping boot and lasts through all the bending then these boots will be good for you. In all fairness, it is possible the boots rubber base has changed, so do give it a try.

Updated, worth noting

These popped up in my search, and thought wolverine made a good boot, so I ordered without even thinking twice. I should have checked the reviews instead of trusting the brand. I wore these ONE day, just working out in the garage….figure it would be a good way to break them in. I bought these more for an everyday boot, not a work boot. By the end of the day I’m annoyed by a constant creak everytime I take a step. I think the sole is already separating causing a creaking noise. No way would I recommend anyone buying a pair of these. If they can’t handle a day in the garage, they sure can’t handle a hard days work *update* I took these boots to local shoe shop and they replied the soles. Creak went away for about a week, then came back. So I started wearing them to work. I work in Autobody repair and I’m a painter. So far for wearing them for 2 months, non stop moving, walking, kneeling, splashed with thinner etc they’re holding up and staying comfortable. I did buy the $50 dr sholls arch supports for them. Creak annoys the hell out of me, but they are still comfortable. Still don’t know if I would gamble another pair. Another update. Yes the squeak is still there in the right boot. Gotta be just a fluke thing since I don’t see other reviews mentioning it. As I said I work in Autobody as a painter. Once these started squeaking, they immediately became shop boots. I paint, so chemicals are splashed on them, over spray, kneeling, kicking racks….I’m far from easy on them. I only wear boots in fall and winter….and most boots will only put up with this abuse for those 6 months, then they’re pitched and another pair is ordered. These tho…..second season wearing them! Still comfortable, feet don’t hurt at the end of the day. No rips, tears, wear on the boot except for all the over spray. I might be a believer in wolverine after all. The laces have even held up. For the money…I don’t see how ya could go wrong. I’ll leave it at 4 stars because of the weird squeak

Needed a steeltoe boot

The boot itself was great. I was expecting to get steeltoe boots though. I already sent them back.

Good value, durable but has a few flaws

Laces need upgraded, they are very soft and im sure will wear out quick. Very small insole so comfort is lacking but cusion on the inside is okay. Slip resistance is pretty poor though.

Good boot with lots of room but no ventilation

I really like these boots for the way they look and fit. There is plenty of room inside and it doesn’t feel tight or cramped. The only downside is that it can feel gross/wet inside from sweat because of no ventilation. I guess that’s the trade off with a waterproof boot.

These boots are the perfect work/hiking boots. Quality is exceptional and the price is reasonable. Comfortable, with great ankle and foot support.

Very comfortable

Fit perfect out of the box. I am a 10.5 with a d width. Almost went with the wide and glad I didn't. As other reviews you need higher socks or they will rub raw at the top of the boot. I expect that to go away as they break in.
