So I purchased this kickstand at the end of 2017 apparently, 4 years ago now, and it was straightforward to install and get to length with just one person. Only issue I have now however is the bracket itself that goes from bike to movable parts is not hardened (or hardened enough) and slowly starts to bend outward with weight and use. I only just recently realized this was happening, as I had my father-inlaw service my little old bike for me, and he commented that he adjusted the kickstand length cause it was leaning too much. Well I thought this odd as I knew I had it just right for the balance of my bike as it's a bit top heavy. Well a week later I'm about to take it out, and saw that it was leaning quite heavily, got the screwdriver and went to lengthen the kickstand again but then stopped myself realizing it would be the SECOND time since I first installed it! I then managed to push the kickstand with MY HAND back to the angle it originally started at! Not sure what's going on, but I'm currently deciding to invest in a new kickstand that hopefully will last much longer, I personally need a strong one as my 1972 bike is naturally on the heavy size and I also use it with saddle bags for grocery runs and now that has a huge effect on the poor stand. (The use of saddle bags is post the initial discovery of the soft bracket and was not a factor that started it.)

I like this kick stand but there are some things you have to be aware of before you buy. Pros: 1) I installed this for my daughter's 16 inch bike. By adjusting the length, you can fit this on 12" to 26" bikes. It was easy to adjust and it looks sturdy. 2) It is great value. For the price it is great and the bike is no longer laying on the ground. It is standing up. 3) It has a very solid construction and it will take a lot to break or damage. Not cons but things you have to be mindful of: a) You have to check the frame of your bike. If there are two bars running behind the pedal with an open space than you should be able to install this. There are some small bikes that don't have that space. b) My daughter's bike also has a plate that runs across the bars. The plate is design to put the bolt of a kick stand through. However, the holes on the plate were too small. The bolt that comes with this product did not fit through them. As a result, the kickstand does not sit on the bars flush. I used a little space on the bars to make it work but it is not the designed slot. So, check that if there is a hold in the plate that goes across the bars, and that hole is a decent size. c) My initial review said the stand being stiff is not a big problem. But my 4 year old daughter is still having trouble after a week so I will say that it is another thing of which the buyer has to be mindful.

NOT for 12-14"! Maybe 16" minimum
The media could not be loaded. Installed easily as described but it is too long for a 14" bike. When I removed the outer extension piece it might work but it was so rough it was already scratching the garage floor. Bell customer service was no help. There's really nothing to modify unfortunately but it's definitely mislabeled. I will be returning and going to a bike shop instead.

A Solid Kickstand Choice When Your Bike Didn't Come With One
This is a quality product. I added this kickstand to my daughters new Huffy bicycle with 16" wheels. It fit perfectly onto the frame and attached easily to the frame for this bicycle. As bicycle frame's vary in size and shape, this may or may not be as easy for you as it was for me because the kickstand bolt tightens from the top so you have to get at it from that direction. If your bicycle doesn't have a lot of clearance above the frame at that spot you may have some trouble. BUT I would guess that any bike shop would be willing to do it for you if you asked nicely. The kickstand adjusts pretty far up and down so I would see it being good for many bicycle sizes. It is thick and sturdy so it would hold up heavy mountain bikes without a problem. It is a far better kickstand than the ones that usually come standard on big-box store bikes. The rubber tip on the bottom is also a nice touch that will help the longevity of the kickstand. The one ding I would give it is that no matter how tight I try to twist the bolt to get it tightened to the frame it still scoots a little bit over time so that the kickstand needs to be pushed back flush with the frame. Not a big deal but just less than perfect. I wish it could be more snug. This may have to do with the small frame of the kids bike and in your experience with larger bicycles this may not be a problem.

Initial impressions are all good (for a kid's bike)
I bought this for my daughter's and son's bike (16" and 20", respectively). They install very easily with a 14mm (or 9/16) socket wrench and a Phillips head screwdriver. Neither of my bikes has a predrilled hole for the installation, but that's okay because the plate system that comes with them can be used to clamp them between the two point where the rear arms attach to the body. Before you fully tighten the assembly, you may want to check where it rests: make sure it doesn't stick out too far from the arm (which can interfere with pedaling) or is too close to the wheel (which can snap a spoke). Both of mine notched into place pretty much spot on. Once you're happy with the placement, you just need to adjust the height to your particular bike. This is a little fiddly because you might not get it right on the first try and because the screw tends to want to bind. But the whole process of installing both of these took about five minutes. I'm not super convinced about how durable this product would be for a heavier adult bicycle that is might be ridden for a lifetime. But for smaller kids' bikes that will eventually be outgrown, I feel pretty confident they're perfectly fine.

It's a deliciate finicky piece of junk.
This kick stand does not extend to an appropriate angle that will keep your bike standing. Instead, more often than not, the front wheel will tilt, cause the bike to roll backwards, and just a slight moment of this causes the kick stand to fold and the bike to fall over. Its a real piece of junk.

Easy to install and excellent adjustability.
Very easy to install kickstand for a bike. I purchased for my daughter’s bike. Adjustable length was great, as it was a bit of a guess as to whether it could be made short enough for her bike frame. Pleased overall.

Easy install, good quality, just one small thing, literally
Well built for a kids bike. Easy to install except I had to buy a longer bolt as the one it came with was too short for my application. The bottom doesn’t need a nut as it has threads so that helps with installation as well. Only giving it four stars since how it holds up after time and the ease to which it can be transferred and extended for a bigger bike is still TBD. However, despite that at this price the initial quality of the metal, you really can’t go wrong.

It's exactly as other reviewers describe - a touch stiff, but with a tiny shot of WD-40 (or similar) works like a charm. The lag bolt was actually about 1/4" too short, but that's not their fault. That's due to the design of the bike. A quick trip to Home Depot and my youngest daughter feels like a big kid now! Worth. Every. Penny.
