Good Replacement Solenoid For Old Craftsman Mower
When my old Craftsman mower fails to kick in the starter it is time to replace the solenoid. The Oregon solenoid got it back working in short order. Good product.

Mower wouldn't start and heard the tell tale clicking coming from the solenoid. After testing, the solenoid was bad. Perfect fit. As pictured. Fired right up after installing. Installed on a craftsmen 16hp riding mower. Much cheaper than buying from sears. First off to all of you who have had problems: 1. Check your battery condition and output. 2. Clean connections and check to see if loose, including battery posts. 3. test it with a multimeter to see if you have a bad ground. 4. test to see if you are getting power between the posts when the ignition is on. If not then likely the solenoid is bad. Tip- Tap the failing solenoid with a rubber mallet. Sometime the connection is stuck but this is not a fix but a band aid. The solenoid will fail soon.

Does it feel like your mower is Hydro Locking?
This Craftsman Part # 146154 worked perfect! It went on my John Deere / Scotts 1748 Briggs & Stratton riding lawn mower. I put up with starting problems for 5 years and boy is it nice to have it start right up now. It doesn't look the same but bolted up in the same spot. If your mower feels like it's hydro locking (too much fuel in combustion chamber so it won't crank) and you have to spin it over with the spark plug out, while it's on the battery charger... the Solenoid might just be the problem. Of course I replaced the starter first but that was of no help. This wonderful little Solenoid did the trick!

Very fast delivery; had it in just two days via us mail. Works fine. Only problem I had was that the posts on this "OEM" replacement were too big for the battery and starter cable connector rings. Had to drill out the rings about 1/4 inch to get them to fit. Not a huge deal and it took about 5 extra minutes. But not what I'd call exact OEM replacement either.

Lawn Mower rides again!
My craftsman lawn mower DYT 4000 rides again! This $15 part saved me hundreds -- Youtube showed me how to install it (super simple) and my riding lawn mower started right up! And to think my wife told me to just sell my lawn mower for $150 bucks to someone on craigslist. One $15 part and a few bolts later and my mower rides again. It starts right away. Whew - so much cheaper than buying a new $1000 riding lawn mower.

Easy to install. Works great.
The solenoid on my Exmark walk behind was worn out and not working reliably. Swapped it out for this and its good as new.

Good Replacement
I've only used it for about twenty starts now, that is the reason for only 4 stars, however the engine now starts quickly and crisply with no delay or lag or drag as before installation of the new solenoid. I would recommend this part, Its a pain to get to or was on my mower, but it is do-able

Does not work. Buy something else.
Does not work. Garbage. Installed this on my tractor and nothing happens. Took it off and bench tested it and nothing happens. Save your money. Buy a better solenoid than this one. I’ll try to return it, but it’s probably been too long now. Garbage solenoid.

Part arrived I installed it and it didn't work took another celinoid out of a working unit and it was fine ...didn't work right out of the box
