Good replacement
Like others have commented the locking mechanism sticks and is very difficult to use requiring lube and working the mechanism multiple times with pliers. Yes you can’t turn the lock without using pliers it’s that difficult. Other than that I’m okay with it. It’s for master bath pocket door which we never lock. I mean who locks pocket doors? My fear is it will accidentally lock and then you’ll be stuck.

Not the same quality
We ordered this lock for a pocket door, trying to match the same Schlage Satin Nickel (619) that was installed ten years ago on another pocket door. This second lock was also installed by a carpenter. The so-called "satin nickel" looked more like chrome on one side and the pull broke off when he was testing it. Schlage was very good about honoring their warranty and sent a replacement within five business days. While the replacement seems to better match the older lock, the pull looks cheaper and has sharp edges -- the quality is not the same.

A good replacement for an off-brand door latch
The pocket door in my apartment originally came with some sort of knock-off pocket door hardware that had extreme difficulty latching and which got stuck all the time. It was also visibly dented/abused by the contractors that installed it (or maybe the folks that owned this place before me). I bought this latch to replace the existing one, and it has a very nice finish, a smooth action, and installed with basically the exact same hole layout. The only issue you may have installing it is that there is a slight counter-sink to the "strike plate", such that it will stick off the wall slightly. It's not very noticeable after tightening down the screw. I'm quite pleased with how easy it was to install. It feels like it will last quite a long time, though these things are pretty simple inside.

Lock is too tight
It takes too much force to lock/unlock this. You will need two hands. Older folks will not be able to turn the lock knob at all.

Door must be 1 3/8 or wider, and instructions are useless.
Lining up the catch plate requires some thinking. The instructions are useless for guidance. Think about how the latch has to engage with the catch plate and line up the inner edge of the catch plate with the tooth on the latch. Not rocket science but don't blindly follow the instructions saying to center the catch plate on the latch. Also, if the lock side is squeezed because the door is less than 1 3/8", then the lock won't turn. If that is a problem, then you can grind off the inner pin inside of the lock where the sides of the lock are holding that pin. But if the door is normal width (mine was), there should be no problem.

Exact replacement for a circa 1985 Schlage sliding door lock
Exact replacement for a (now heavily tarnished) brass colored version of the same Schlage sliding door lock installed some 35 years ago by my dad when he did the finish work on our (then newly added) master bath. Our recent remodeling project changed all the faucets, shower door, towel bars, TP holder, door and drawer pulls, and privacy lock to the Satin Nickel finish and the tarnished brass lock on the door to the shower area just didn't cut it. IMO, the quality and finish of this new Schlage sliding door lock in Satin Nickel is the same as the brass one from 1985 and it was trivial to install. All the screw holes lined up perfectly: just loosen the machine screws a bit, slide the lock in place, install the wood screws, tighten the machine screws evenly, voilà! Since I rarely read directions any more, I didn't notice at first that the strike plate is asymmetrical and the lock wouldn't catch. Turning it 180 degrees fixed that problem. Highly recommended.

The brushed nickel finish looks great! This only took a couple of minutes to ...
I bought this to replace a similar brass-colored lock on a bathroom pocket door that was old and busted. The brushed nickel finish looks great! This only took a couple of minutes to install on the door after I removed the old lock. Initially, I wasn't able to get the lock to catch on the opposing plate. However, this wasn't any fault with the lock... the house had settled and the door was no longer plumb. Since I got that sorted out, the lock now catches easily and holds the door firmly shut without being too tight. Note: this model has a slot on the outside that makes the door easily opened with a coin or similarly small, flat-edged object. This makes it safer to install on a bathroom door just in case another family member slips and hurts themselves or something; if you want more 'security' you'll want to look at another model.

Looks nice.
I have to turn the knob and then slide the door shut to get it to latch. I have to tell people that visit to do that. It's much stiffer than the one I replaced.
