Problematic Mop Head
The "Rubbermaid Brute Steel Roller Sponge Mop with Steel Handle" is definitely not a brute. It is functional but light weight with a light weight handle. I have used if for over a year so have considerable experience with is strengths and weaknesses. Overall it is definitely not a brute, but rather light weight mop. and more suitable for an occasional small surface wipe down rather than some serious mopping. It's biggest weakness is its sponge mop head. As it is used over time and dries over several iterations the sponge mop head shrinks. That leaves the sponge too short for the metal bracket that holds it. Therefore one must be very cautions not to nick or scratch cabinet bases or any other like obstacle. But worse than that, the sponge disintegrates after steady use. For these reasons I would not recommend it for any sort of serious mopping. Consider this, the replacement head is almost $20. And it definitely won't last.

Probkm with packaging
When you take the plastic from around the mop head it pops the refill out. Very difficult to get it back in.

Use a “Hammer” to Tap the Handle for Attachmment.
Today June 4 2020 just received my sponge mop delivered by Amazon. The sponge is durable, but you need to soak the sponge in a bucket of water for 45 minutes to soften before mopping. My only dissatisfaction is the handle. Box arrived with sponge attached to bottom portion, handle not attached. I had to use a “hammer” to tap the handle in the top slot.

Back breaker.
Purchased this mop hoping it would be truly “professional” grade. In reality it’s the same or less quality as your standard mop from Target. Build quality aside, my #1 complaint is how short this mop is. Pictures make it seem like it’s much longer. Being a tall dude, I’m forced to arch my back forward to mop with this thing. Instant back ache. Used once then tossed in the garage. Sigh.

Very disappointed Rubbermaid
Usually Rubbermaid product are fairly good but not this sponge mop. I spilled a can of juice and needed to mop it up before anyone slipped or tracked the stuff around since it would get sticky as it dried. Grab this sponge mop snd dunked it in a shallow bit of water & cleaner but found I couldn’t get it to squeeze out the excess water which only made things worse since now i had puddles of water. They need to redesign this mop. I remember in the old days when I could buy a sponge mop at the hardware store or supermarket and use it for decades, only having to change the sponge every do often. The thing was very simple but it worked.

Works as it should, finally. We had several - 4 or 5 - of these mop heads pull apart, even after complaining and receiving a couple directly from Rubbermaid. But I like the mop handle and was really frustrated about throwing it out, so I tried one more order. It's been about two months now, with weekly use, and this one has held up just fine. Nothing special about it, but it is doing what it is supposed to do without pulling apart. Hopefully, they have fixed the problem. But I am not ready to declare it fixed until I have one or two more without problems.

I like the mop
I had a mop from the state fair I used for about 30 years. I have never been able to find one equal to that one. Time to look for a new mop and I found this one. I have hardwood floors,it does an awsome job. The head is very good quality. The handle works loose and comes apart.I will put a clamp on as sudgested in another comment.The ringer handle does flip the other way at times also. The way the head attaches is like my old mop and it works very well. This is the closest mop to my old one I have found in about 12 years. all in all a good mop,problems are miner.

Short, hard to use, mop head falls apart. Don't waste your money.
I purchased this mop to replace the older blue Rubbermaid Commercial mop which is no longer available https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P1P99YM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I might be willing to try 3rd party refills, but the telescoping handle no longer stays extended. This new mops is inferior, in every way. The sponge is not as absorbent. It shreads and tears after a few uses. The handle is a few inches shorter than the old mop, and the wringer is uncomfortably hard to use. This does not even address the fact that the first mop I ordered came without the handle, and I had to contact Amazon to have a new mop shipped. Rubbermaid - I am disappointed.

Find another mop to buy dont waste your time like I did
Don't waste your time buying this mop the handle is in two parts, holding only by friction fit. The overall height of the mop handle is way to short to be used by an average height person. This mop should not have the Rubbermaid BRUTE logo its an insult to your longtime customer who are used to quality commercial products from your company. The people at Rubbermaid who decided to market this mop to the commercial sector should be fired on the spot, i guess they never have used a mop in their life. When Rubbermaid will bring back the heavy duty butterfly commercial mop in production to replace this aberration? Time will tell, unfortunately my floors are still dirty and I cant find a quality commercial mop to do the job.

esponjas de muy poca duración. Pésimo producto
Bastante malo, compre 2, de uno la esponja no duró más de 10 usos y se empezo a romper. Y el otro, al exprimirlo se salio la esponja de la barra que lo soporta y ya no sirvió. Pensé que por la marca seria un producto bueno, pero no fue así, me decepcionó totalmente. He usado otros trapeadores similares de otras marcas, muy corrientes los mangos, pero las esponjas duran mucho y son mucho más eficientes.

Verry poor quality
De mauvaise qualité! Ne vaut pas son prix. Ce dit un item de qualité industriel, mais après seulement un mois d'utilisation à la maison et non intensive, la mope est a remplacer! la tête de la mope tombe en cours d'utilisation. le métal qui tient la tête de la mope est très mince et tient avec seulement 4 rivets. Je ne comprends pas pourquoi cette mope fait partie des produits commencial chez Rubbermaid. J'aurais du acheter celle chez Walmart a 20$. Poor quality!
