Lock replacement

This is a part replacement and it fit as OEM parts. Internal part of OEM failed and this fit as repair.

Internal springs keep breaking

Stay away! I’ve replaced or fixed this mortise at least 4 times in the past 5 years. That’s almost once a year. The internal springs inside the assembly are thin and prone to breaking from normal wear and tear. The part that breaks the most is the return spring for the catch (the part that keeps the door closed). It has broken numerous times. Prime line doesn’t seem sell a replacement for this cheap part that probably costs less than a dollar to make. Other parts that have broken as well are the return springs for the handle. Also the springs that operate the dead bolt. Finally, the assembly is a pain to put back together if you open up the mortise. I’m trying to find another brand replacement without any luck. I may end up replacing the whole door for a better system. I’m extremely frustrated that a $1 part is causing me to replace an entire door.

Screen and Storm Door Mortise Lock Insert 6-7/8" Screw Holes

Needed this for a used security door someone put out for FREE. This Screen and Storm Door Mortise Lock Insert 6-7/8" Screw Holes was the cheapest I could fine. I live in So Cal and this was shipped from Las Vegas about 250 away and it took from April 29th to May 10th to receive it-Outrages!!!! That's about 22 miles per day! But it was FREE shipping! I have installed the security door and the Mortise Lock, it works fine.

A savings from purchasing a new door.

This works well and saved a bunch of money over purchasing a new door. The face of the lock insert's screw holes had a slight allignment problem but I think that is due to a different door. Once installed, it has worked great and without issue.
