Door Kick Plate

It's made well and I'm very pleased. I purchased a used one and there were a few scratches. However, its a kick plate, made for protecting the door as it is pushed open with your foot, so a few scratches were fine with me.

It Has Stopped a Red Squirrel from Getting into Our Shed

Look, I’m pretty sure it was the bunny under the shed who talked the red squirrel into chewing a hole through our shed door. I mean, they live together and I don’t trust that bunny, looking all innocent and cute. Anyway, after the hole in the bottom of the door appeared, it was clear the red squirrel was jumping up onto the shelves and tossing things off, and then onto the roll of paper towels hanging from the rafters, ripping them off and tossing the, as well. I tried duct tape, steel wool; nothing worked. Got this, attached it to the inside of the door, and now the red squirrel has no idea what’s going on. I heard him and the bunny arguing.

Looks good. 12 screws takes a bit of doing

This product is a thin sheet of aluminum with a plating of bright gold on one side. It comes with a pack of 12 philips head wood screws with pan head. The bag was broken however in my box, and the screws were loose. Thankfully I found them all, or else I would have had to go to the hardware and probably repurchase a whole new set of brass ones. Pro tip-put the screws in perfectly straight every time because if they aren't, it will leave kind of an unsightly gap and also bend the material because they don't seat flat. Pre drilling would be a hassle. Once you screw it in crooked, you really can't redo and straighten it. The hole is done. I probably had half my screws off a bit. Also, the screws were kind of cheap and they can strip a bit when driving. The gold color will come off the screw where it happens. They are not brass. Overall, it's likely people won't notice small imperfections. Nobody's out to inspect door plates. And it's an overall improvement to my door and I got the look I wanted at a low price. Would probably be interested in an adhesive application if I had to redo.

Prime-Line never lets me down!

It took all of 5 mins once the plate was leveled, to install.

A bit longer than a 36" door

Very difficult to trim without the metal twisting. I have a standard door and it was 1/2" to long. Had to cut on both sides because of the screw holes.

Just what we were looking for.

Needed to replace our old ones after 20 years. The holes did not line up exactly with the old ones, but several did and I just drilled new ones for the ones that did not. Easy to install. Leave the protective film on until all the screws are in, but don’t tighten the screws down all the way until you remove the film. That prevents the film from being trapped under the screw head and not coming off properly.

Can use either side (silver or brass look). Very easy to install and it gives a small facelift to our home.

You left out the screws for one kick plate.

One of the kick plates had no screws attached. Had to send the handyman out to buy more screws. Cost me $$ for his time. I'd like some consideration for the trouble.

Inferior product with defects, flimsy.

This is an inferior item. It has a 2 inch scratch, badly bent on one corner, and had a bend/arch...was not flat. Very flimsy. I do not recommend anything about this product. We had purchased one of these from Home Depot before, and it was thick and sturdy with no defects. It was made by Schlage.
