Better than the original

Surprised that it was sturdier than original. Very reasonable cost.

Deluxe Sash Lift, 3-5/16 Inch, Diecast Construction, White (2 Pack)

The replacement sashes fit exactly as like the original that we had to replace. Very easy to remove the old ones and install the new ones. The new sashes feel a lot stronger, and I feel confident they will outlast the windows because they are metal and not plastic. Over the years the original sashes installed by the window installer degraded most probably from the UV light coming in through the window. These were made of a type of plastic. These metal ones are very strongly made, match the white of our window frames, and were easy to install. If possible, I would suggest to use the original screws from the old sashes. The original screws were of a slightly different thread, and their length was slightly shorter. I did not want to take a chance on degrading the self tap type thread in the frame, and the length of the new screws appeared to be about 1/8 inch longer. In my case I felt safer to use the original screws. I saw in the package there is a diagram showing the dimensions. This would be very handy if making a new installation. From my point of view this is a good quality window sash.

Retrofit these handles into an old Peachtree window

The handles for my 30 year old Peachtree windows are no longer in production. I bought these handles and reconstructed the sash to be able to handle a flush mount handle. So far so good.

BEWARE THE SCREW LENGTH

I used these handles as replacements for the old plastic ones around my house that have been cracking. The are sturdy and they fit the existing holes left behind by the old handles. But, I learned the hard way that the provided screws are too long for my windows! They penetrated through the vinyl, and cracked the glass on the other side. From now on I will continue to use the original screws from the old handles.

Watch Out for Long Screws

Thought I would use the new screws instead of the old ones, but when I screwed them in they cracked the glass. The lift was fixed but now I have to replace the window glass. :(

theses replace my plastic sashes that came on my windows perfectly, but make sure if you are going to use the screws that came with them to grind them down or just use the ones out of the old sashes, if you use the new ones they will break your glass because they are too long. these were easy to install, it took me no time at all to replace my old ones.

Finally found something that works

After giving the plastic type two tries, I finally found these ones that are good quality and sturdy. The plastic ones fit the existing holes perfectly but were either broken during installation or after handling them for a few weeks. This one is made of metal and I was even able to use the existing holes in my screening sliding door, even though they were slightly different. I had to use different screws to fit our door.

Great replacement window handle

Had to replace my old window handles that were plastic, and crumbled and turned to powder after 30 years. These are perfect, and are made of metal. I'll be dead before I have to replace them. Youpee!
