Good Value, but poor quality-- also, seat height not as advertised
These stools are a great value. Bar stools aren't cheap, so you cannot beat the price (a pair for like $75). I bought these about two years ago, and I am in the process of replacing them. I remember searching high and low for barstools, and these ones were the cheapest (and I liked the fact that they are adjustable). As explained below, I wasn't too impressed with the quality, but people that didn't have time to give the stools a thorough inspection and "test drive" thought the stools looked nice and "contemporary." Although stools are a great value, you get what you pay for. The quality is cheap, of course. Cheap faux-leather vinyl covers the quarter-inch-thick padding. Through the thin padding and vinyl, you can see the impression from the four screw heads holding the seat in place. I don't really notice them when I sit, but you can see them poking up, so obviously thin padding (if you can call it that). The chrome finishes are ok, but parts are plastic painted like chrome (like the "silverware" you get at airports). BUT, they're still a great value and have lasted me about two years-- that's why they get three stars. One of the main reasons I wanted to write this review is to warn people that the PRODUCT DESCRIPTION IS MISLEADING. The product description touts an "Adjustable height from 24.8-33.1 [inches]." That's not accurate. That measurement could only have been taken by measuring the lip along the back of the seat, which protrudes up more than three inches. The seat height about 21.5 inches at its lowest, and about 30 inches at its highest. However, I'm about 200 pounds (which is the maximum weight for these chairs), so the hydraulics sink about two inches when I sit on it at full height. Thus, the seat is only about 28 inches off the ground when I'm sitting on it. That's fine for counter-height seating. However, I just moved into an apartment with actual bar-height seating, and these stools (with a 28 inch seat height, at best) are not tall enough. So, I'm on a mission to replace them with some expensive stools. But, for the last couple years, they served me well-- and they're good "starter" furniture.

Great for bar tops
I received these 2 stools about a year ago now. Assembly was very straight forward and quick, taking about ten minutes total to put them together. I included the cosmetic plastic ring that goes on the bottom of the post, even tho they are made of plastic and coated in a chrome finish. The ring fits fine and locks down without issue on mine, which I have read some complaints about on here. I ordered this set to place on a kitchen island bar style top, for added seating in my place. I have to fully extend the chairs in order to get them to be right height at my counter, but they look great there. I weigh 220 lbs and I have not experienced any issues with sitting on these stools. They can hold over 200 lbs, but I probably would not push it much more as I would think they would tip over more then anything. I won't end up with any indentations from the stool's feet as I use it on carpet. I could see these potentially causing issues on hardwood floors. If it was me, I would put some sort of felt insulation on the bottom of them if I was to use it on hardwood floors. The padding is not supper thick in the seat, but we don't spend a lot of time sitting on them. The stools look great, and have a great modern feel about them. You can not beat the price. For the price of these two stools, you can hardly find one comparable stool in stores for the same price or quality.

Family of four loves these!
We've had these for 3 months so far (bought 2 sets) and they are the best thing in the kitchen, when they are in the kitchen, as they get dragged all over the house. These stools are so versatile! I didn't want a big hunk of a barstool taking up all the walking space in my kitchen, and these can be lowered enough to fit under the kitchen table. So if you have an extra guest at the table, you can use them for that, or at the counter, you can raise them for that. The constant silent game in our house is I like the height set somewhere in the middle, so I am constantly lowering them, but the kids think they are a great ride so every time they see them lowered they "ride" them back up, which keeps us all busy. They are sharp looking and clean up easily. When you wash the bottom you just have to be sure to dry it so there are no water spots on the chrome. They are surprisingly comfortable with that tiny backrest giving you just what you need. My lower back bothers me sitting for any length of time but these feel great and I don't become uncomfortable. They spin around freely and seem to be strong, as I just had a guest who is 200+ lbs and I saw him sitting on them for a while, and it held up just fine. They are a definite talking point. Everyone that comes over ends up sitting on them and asks me about them. Four thumbs up!

The stools are great so far
The stools are great so far. I have only had them a couple of weeks and already well used. Very easy to assemble. The plastic ring around the connection is a bit cheap looking. I am hoping that they will continue to be great and last the distance as they were so cheap. So far so good.
