Seems to Improve Air Quality in Stale-ish Room With Window Unit, Could Use Remote
We have this air purifier in a smaller room that tends to get a bit stale and which also has a window unit air conditioner. I mention the window unit because the outside humidity can affect the quality of the air inside, but this seems to be helping a fairly good amount. Also, we occasionally get “stink bugs” in that area, and this purifier seems to help cut back (not completely, but somewhat) on that odor as well. One of the main draws for me to this air purifier was that I recognize the name, “Nuwave” and therefore have some hope that when it comes time to get filter replacements, they will still be in business and have the filters for sale (I’ve ended up trying to find filter replacements for “off brands” only to find they are no longer in business or no longer offer filter replacements, so I’m left with a useless device basically). That being said, at the time of this writing, there are not yet any replacement filters available so I can’t speak to the cost or value of that as far as maintenance costs, as this does take two filters. The size of this unit is on the smaller side, but that doesn’t seem to affect its performance or quality of purifying the air. I like that this air purifier doesn’t produce ozone, as many do which could potentially cause some health issues. The touch controls are easy to access and use, (detailed in the product photos) and are sensibly placed. I do think for the price a remote would have been a nice feature to have with this, but manually touching the controls are the only way to operate this, which seems a little behind the times and devalues it a bit. I do like all of the certifications that this has, so I can have some confidence in the energy draw and quality of this based on that. However, being able to detect an improvement in air quality is the biggest pro and my daughter, who spends a lot of time in this area, has reported that it is certainly helping on that front, so I’m mostly pleased with this. VERY Effective ~ Bit more expensive ~ Replacement filters not available yet
We use Air Purifiers in both our home and our beach cabin because both have some unpleasant odors: our full-time residence is an 18th century house that has the typical “vintage” scents that have lingered in the wood, and our beach house tends to get that mildewy smell when it’s closed up for months at a time. Anyway, we have several Nuwave purifiers and have been pleased with their effectiveness in making the air smell fresh. This new portable purifier is welcomed because we can easily pack it up in the car. After using it for several weeks, here are a few Pros and Cons I’ve noticed. PROS: 1) Small, not much larger than a gallon of water 2) Lightweight, only about 5½ lbs which is even lighter than a gallon of water 3) Has several speeds, plus an Auto feature to detect the air quality and adjust the speed accordingly 4) Has a turbo feature when you need the air cleansed quickly (such as bringing new baby home, caring for ill family member, during heavy smoke from fires, etc) 5) Uses 2 Filters, one on each side, to cleanse a lot of air 6) Brand confidence CONS: 1) This model is more expensive in comparison with other similar compact ones. 2) I could not find anywhere to buy the size filters for this model - I even looked on the Nuwave website as suggested in the Owner’s Manual for ordering them but they were not even listed as being available. I then called Nuwave customer service and was told the filers are not being made yet and that they “hoped to start producing them soon.” Hopefully we’ll see them available soon since Nuwave is reliable. 3) Nuwave filters for my other models are very expensive, in comparison with most air filters. Of course, they are double-layered and high quality. Since this compact model uses two filters, replacing them can get expensive. 4) The air purifier itself is also more expensive in comparison with other similar compact ones. 5) I wish this portable unit had a carry case, like their portable cooktop unit has. So, in summary, this is a quality air purifier that’s a little more expensive than comparable ones and uses filters that are a lot more expensive. If purity of air is essential for your specific situation, it will most assuredly do the job for you.

Excellent little air purifier!
I got this to help mitigate the smoke smell coming from my duplex neighbor's house. Within 24 hours, it made a noticeable difference. Within 72 hours, my house smelled more fresh and clear. I'd say that's a solid demonstration of a high-functioning machine!
