Great design, sturdy and flexible, fantastic for the price

I've been trying a lot of these gloves lately and I think these are my favorite yet. For the price they simply can't be beat. We have a working farm and are in the middle of a home remodel so these gloves get a lot of use. Many don't last a single day. These have been used by my husband for over a week now and are still going strong. They fit his medium sized hands perfectly, are snug and a good fit. The plastic on the palm is both grippy to allow him to handle tools without slipping but are flexible enough to allow him to tie his shoes without removing his gloves. The cuff at the wrist is snug which he likes as it keeps sawdust and dirt out without being uncomfortable or cutting off circulation. We found he could use it to move a glass door and fiberglass shower insert without problems, while another pair of gloves (with a supposedly higher cut rating) shredded like cheese. These will allow a poke (like a glass or metal shard, rose thorns, etc) to go through but offer great protection for something sharp that slides down your hand versus pokes into it, if that makes sense. Keep in mind these are thin gloves and cheaper, they aren't intended to last you for years. As long as you purchase with the knowledge that these are intended to be used and replaced, not lifetime use, you will be pleased with this purchase.

Hardy, protective gloves that grip well.

We've been doing a lot of house remodeling lately, and my husband and I are constantly needing these types of gloves for cutting boards (floor installation), carrying heavy items, and generally protecting our hands from cuts, scrapes, and all manner of hazards. These really fit the bill. While these Magid D-ROC Ultra-Lightweight Micro-Foam Nitrile Palm Coated Work Gloves - in cut level A5 - came in one size as L and fit my husband's hands (his hands and bone structure are wide), they barely fit him. It's good enough that he can wear them, however - but he said he definitely wouldn't want them any smaller. They're a little too loose for me, although I can still use them. While some gloves with this nitrile palm coated texture on the bottom sometimes are stretchy...these are not so much. They are thicker and hardier than the kind that have more stretch and give on the upper part of the hands, but that's for a reason - for maximum protection against cuts. Despite how bulky they may initially appear, my husband said that he's able to be reasonably nimble with them, and they offer good dexterity for picking up items without feeling like you're picking up stuff with baseball mitts. :) The nitrile coating on the bottom grips like nobody's business, and they're perfect for moving heavy and awkward items like furniture, boards, tools, and everything in between. Overall, these are very well-constructed work gloves that are versatile and can be used for a variety of purposes. If you're worried about it being too snug of a fit, I would suggest sizing up. Aside from that, they're fantastic gloves that provide ample protection for your hands while ensuring you get a good grip on items you need to grab a hold of. Two thumbs up from this household!

Heavy duty

These gloves are essential for us right now because a year later we are still involved in a heavy amount of hurricane debris removal from our property. I have used them while picking up garbage and tree limbs, and it has helped us avoid splinters. I imagine that they are mostly recommended when using heavy equipment to avoid cutting, but I have not had this opportunity to try it for that reason. My hands do get sweaty when wearing them, but I have that issue with a variety of different utility gloves. The brand itself offers several sizes for the glove and it seems that finding the right fit may be the hardest component of using this glove. The size 9/L fit my hand fairly well, but were a little snug. They were more loose on my wife, and because the glove itself is a little more sturdy in fitting, it is quite awkward on me. I would recommend that if you are in doubt, choose a larger size; it is better than not being able to stretch it on.

My protection

I do a lot of manual work for a Silicon Valley guy. Although I'm an office bound dude during the week, when I'm at home or on church missions, I'm all about hard work. A lot of it is with power tools, hand tools, hammers, gathering up splintery or sharp detritus, etc. I have learned to value good hand protection and Magid has a full range of gloves to take care of me. I really like their A5 level gloves because they are not so heavy as to be clumsy, but they do provide significant protection and the confidence to do my jobs without fear of minor cuts and abrasions. Just the prevention of metal and wood splinters is worth the cost. Not only are they protective, but these gloves help give me a bit of grip. The rubbery surface is very helpful when grasping multiple boards, pipes, and slippery PVC. One of the big uses I have had lately is to protect myself while cutting and stapling metal fabric screening (1/4" mesh). Before discovering Magid, I would get cuts and scratches because the leather gloves I used to use were too clumsy to allow me to maneuver the material while cutting and forming it. With these gloves, I have enough flexibility to do the task while being protected. Great stuff - my go too brand and general selection of hand protection.

Good gloves for gardening

These are very good for gardening. They are light, flexible and resistant (to some point) to punctures or cuts. These are rated A5 ANSI. This means that they require a pressure of 2.2 to 3Kg for the cut to be effective. (the rating goes up to A9). They cannot be considered disposable since there is only one pair per package. They are indeed reusable. They have also a very good amount of grip. In conclusion: These are gloves that will give you a better grip, are waterproof, scratch and puncture proof (to a limited extend). 4 stars.
