Big and Tall

Big and tall poncho is perfect for all shapes and sizes. Unless you’re short. I’m 5’5 however, I still liked how it fit on me. And kept me dry.

I love this poncho!

I purchased the tall size because I needed something to completely cover me in inclement weather during my walk to work. It’s waterproof, lightweight and easy to take on and off. It’s affordable and I have friends who’ve purchased it after seeing mine. Don’t hesitate to buy it.

Bigger than most ponchos I've seen for sure.

Man this thing is big. I stand at 6'4 225 and it swallows me up. I must say though I think it is more designed for a fat person than a tall person. It comes down right below my knee maybe three inches below. Was hoping for a much longer poncho, maybe almost down to the ankles would be great but it's better than I've had in the past. For someone tall this would be great for like a football game because if you are sitting down it would have no problem covering all of your body parts. But I swear you could fit three people inside this thing width wise. Overall a good buy. Oh and it also has a couple snaps on the side which would come in handy for those windier days.

Seems well made

Recently went on a hog hunt. We were caught in a torrential downpour, thunder and lightning everywhere, a bit scary to be honest. . The trail/road leading to the stand disappeared and became a fast flowing small shallow creek. A flash flood!!!That day I used a small, cheap Walmart poncho I always carry in my backpack. It kept me dry for the most part. At least my top half. I decided then I would never be caught again in this situation without a large, decent poncho. This poncho reminds me of a shower curtain, maybe a bit softer and pliable. I have no doubt it will keep me and my gear dry. I am 6’2”, 250 pounds and it covers pretty much my entire body. I inspected it and could not see any quality assurance issues. The hood feels comfortable over my rather large head, LOL. Has two buttons on each side but I would be careful pulling on the plastic to undo the buttons. I guess the best thing to do is to pull as close to the buttons as you can to make sure it doesn’t tear up. It is on the heavier side of things you want to put in your backpack but since I don’t walk really long distances when we hunt, I’ll be OK. I vacuum packed it and put it in my backpack. Hopefully will never have to use it.

Side snaps don't stay snapped

Poncho is thick and large I don't like the side snaps don't stay together and hood is small hard to get over stocking hat. I use for trips to barn when raining

Me gustó mucho

Por el precio está muy bien. Es grande. Mido 1.75 CMS de alto y me llega a los tobillos. Si su estatura es menor consideren otra opción. Me cubre todo el cuerpo, en cuanto al peso es como si llevarán una gabardina de tela o chamarra grande. Ya doblado, si ocupa algo de espació en una mochila de 25 lts. Pero si te topas con una lluvía fuerte no tendrás problema en llegar a tu destino totalmente seco.

Update: Owned it for almost 6 months

Poncho is very large, but the head hole is small! The material around the head hole has already pulled apart after the first time I wore it. Update: I hung the hood over a rounded shelf post for the poncho to dry, and when I went to fold it up, the seam in the hood gave away and it had slid down the post to the shelf. I love using ponchos in the rain, and as a ground cover to put my sleeping bag on, but I'd look elsewhere. All the seems are done poorly, and aren't reliable.

Confusing sizing - best of the bunch for now though

Despite this being labelled as an XL, and the documentation indicating more room, somehow that only translated to the torso and arm coverings being absolutely massive (which is fine, that's what I was after). However, in the documentation as well, a mention of the hood/head cover portion being large seemed inaccurate. I could fit my head inside the hood but barely had room for anything else. A hood from a sweater underneath would be really tight. Even the visibility without anything on my head, seeing out was a task, I could only see about a 20% window of space. Unfortunately, this was the best of the bunch for now so this will have to do.

Producto hecho con buen material

El producto llegó en excelentes condiciones y al revisarlo me quedé satisfecho ya que este impermeable está elaborado con un buen material, además para una persona de moderada estatura -1.60 m.- resulta adecuado, no obstante, para alguien por debajo de esa le quedará un poco largo, casi a ras del suelo aunado a este hecho, le quedará un poco más ancho. Le doy sólo cuatro estrellas porque aunque es un buen artículo no pude encontrar otros tamaños entre las opciones y como lo necesitaba, adquirí la talla XL-TALL, en lo personal, a mí me queda y me funcionará muy bien, pero no para mi hermano que es un poco más bajo de estatura. Ojalá pongan en venta tallas más pequeñas y sin duda, que volveré a comprarme otros más.

A very good poncho, could be improved

This poncho is certainly impervious to water, it's basically a giant shower curtain. It's rectangular shape would make it the ultimate camping poncho-tarp. Unfortunately, this poncho lacks grommets or any point of attachment. I did install some myself, but the result was not entirely satisfactory. I'd also like a simple way to reduce the length of the back and front: It's perfect size for a 5'11" person, but as I wanted to use it for bike touring in colder rain and camping, there is no easy solution that I've found so far. This is somewhat frustrating as it's my favorite piece of raingear : it's cool to the touch, doesn't drag as much as lighter ponchos, and large enough to accept a larger backpack too. I like the fact that since it's heavy duty and black, it can probably be repaired with tire patchs in case of puncture. Hopefully Galeton will consider adding grommet to the item, as I'd be willing to pay a few more dollar for this something as heavy duty.
