It looks nice, but...
I bought this to replace a lap desk / bed tray with too many plastic parts that broke after limited amounts of light use. This is definitely sturdy - it's solid wood and weighs a ton (which, if it had a handle for lifting/gripping, wouldn't be quite so bad). A few carefully-placed magnets to hold the side drawer in or the tilt-arm in place would be good - I may get out my glue and craft supplies and see what I can come up with. It does *look* nice, however - I will definitely have this handy for if my mother ever needs it downstairs in our formal family room. :D It did require some fixing upon arrival - screws not seated, etc - which is frustrating when one a) does not have a huge tool chest handy and b) is buying a pre-assembled item - so keep that in mind. You'll want a screwdriver and some glue or tape handy to get it ready for use. The weight is a curse and a blessing - it does not budge, so I feel safe actually setting my coffee mug down on it while I'm working (unlike the lighter lap desks that are unsteady and wind up top-heavy), but it is also a pain in the bum to set up every time I want to use it. Also, I have learned - if you have thicccc thighs, this is not quite high enough to place much higher than knee-length while seated/upright in bed. So keep that in mind. ;)

Great quality for the price
I was surprised at the quality for the price. It’s sturdy and cute. I will say the clearance is not very high. I’m thin so it was perfect for me but I can see issues if you need a little more height.

Poor quality control
The drawer in this product fell apart upon opening the box. It had not been glued at all and the staples either missed their backing piece or were driven so deep as to no longer hold. As if the air pressure for the stapler was turned up too high. I fixed it easily enough, but it indicates the quality control for these items is not very good. Other than that, it's a nice table/tray.

I am SUPER impressed!
I was in the market for one of these for a few weeks before I came across this one. Most of the ones I liked were weirdly expensive! But this one was a great price ($17.30 when I bought it), and was actually the same shade of wood as the furniture in my room, so it was an easy choice. Because it cost SO much less than other similar lapdesks, I expected it to be cheap and shoddy. I was not at all prepared for the high quality of this desk! It is real wood, it is sturdily built, and it works exactly as promised. There is very little that I would change, but there are a few things, which is why the 4 stars: 1) The bar that keeps the laptop from sliding off is fixed, and ones I've used in the past were removable. Removable would be better. 2) It is sturdy and heavy, yes, but HEAVY. I would probably go as far as to say TOO heavy. It really is a solid piece! Unfortunately, solid isn't always what you need when you need portable! 3) This is the biggest deal to me, by far: The legs and the drawer do not lock into place at all. So when you fold it up to set aside, the legs swing back open. And though the drawer has a stopper that keeps it from falling out entirely, it does fall right open when you turn this desk on its side. For both of these issues, I plan to make some adjustments myself to keep these things mobile when I want to move them, but fixed when I don't want them to move. Though I think the fix will be fairly easy for me to accomplish, I feel like this is something they should have done on their end, and it would have saved me a lot of frustration so far! All in all, though, this is a great lapdesk for a great price! I am so glad I bought it that when I came here to write this review, I saw a "like new" one selling for a discount, so I bought it too, even though I don't even need a second one! But I am sure I will be happy to have it on-hand when the need arises.

Really short… can barely fit legs
I liked this desk however it was really low. I’m a petite girl and I couldn’t fit my legs underneath. I’d also have to bend down when using the table at an uncomfortable angle.

From breakfast in bed to late-night studying
PROs: - Good quality and attractive finish. It's definitely one of the better looking lap tables available on amazon. I got it in walnut and I love the colour. - Nice functional features, I like the ledge at the bottom and the tilt option, works great for holding laptops and big books. I don't use the drawer much, but it might be good for napkins or pens. - Fold away neatly for easy storage CONs: - Initially the one I received had a scratch on the surface that looked painted over, so I exchanged it without a problem. - I agree with some of the reviewers that the legs are a bit short. It's not a problem for me since I'm pretty small, but I can't have a thick blanket on my legs and still have table over my legs. The height up to the bottom of edge of the table is 15cm, just to give you an idea. Overall I'm happy with my purchase.
