WARM, boxy shape.
I live in the south so it doesn’t get truly cold here. I bought this as a gift for my husband for the 3-7 days it’s super “cold” to layer with (single digit wind chill). Lightweight, easy to pack for travel to truly cold places when we travel. My only dislike is he has a narrow waist and broad shoulders so the cut isn’t flattering — aware that’s not the critical point, but just be advised. I do not regret the purchase!

Great Value For Down Vest!
I purchased this vest while it was marked down significantly from the regular price. The vest is well made, light weight, and provides surprisingly good insulation. The inside incorporates a silver lining designed to reflect body heat. Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase. I will note that the vest runs a bit large in size compared to vests I've worn from other manufacturers. I ordered a large. A medium would probably fit a bit better. However, the medium sold for about 30% more than the large size. Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase.

I've been using this for almost a full year, this review is in perspective and might help you in your purchase decision. Some reasons you might want to get the Columbia vest: It provides a clean look, it's light and airy. It can be easily cleaned in a washing machine. Build is solid and it does not tear easily, zippers give you a bit of resistance, but they do not break. Some reasons why you might NOT want to get it: 1. It's pricey, there are many other products you can get, like Patagonia at this price point which is better reviewed overall. 2. It stains easily, any spill drinks, or food will stain it immediately and it cannot be easily wiped off, especially with the more lighter colors (grey, white) you have to push it in a wash cycle to clean 3. It is not as warm as I expected. With all the talk about Nasa technology I expected some small miracle warmth, but it is as warm as any other sweater or hoodie at this size. 4. Due to the special "Nasa" lining, there are no inner pockets. There are also no pockets on the front (other than the hand pocket) so that was missing for me. An inner pocket would make a big difference. 5. A bit of nitpicking, but the hand-pocket inside has a felt material, that is a. not super-warm, b. catches on anything that is even slightly pointy. They could have used a better material for that. Overall I give it a '3'. Although it delivers as promised, it was a disappointment for me in several areas. For that reason I would recommend you look for an alternative.

Very Nice but runs a little large
Just got this for Florida winters (60 degrees). It runs about a size larger than normal. I normally wear an XXL and could have ordered an XL. Maybe order a size down. This one will work for me though

Am I Supposed to Look Like Big Bird?
Update: Exchanged that vest for a new one. 3 or so weeks now and there have only been a couple feathers that came out, no where close to the original. The original had to have been a defect and as a result I guess it would only be fair to raise the overall rating to an excellent of 5 stars up from 3. ### ### Original Review. The photo is what the vest did to my hoodie, is this normal? Am I supposed to look like Big Bird every time i wear the vest, or is it just overfilled? Given that it's mid October, will there be any goose filling left by Thanksgiving? Other than that, it fits well and looked well on me. Most of the other brands felt bulky or just looked disproportionate. Like other reviewers have mentioned, grab 1 size smaller than what you would usually wear to say like a hoodie or sweater. If you like a lot of room or like apparel that's baggie, grab your normal size. Warmth, yes this vest has kept me warm standing still outside while the temps were in the upper 40's. I went for a midnight run the other day when the temps were in the mid 30's and I felt warm initially and toasty after I finished. In both events, I had the vest over a medium density hoodie. I wish I can honor a higher rating I like Columbia's products, but I'm uncertain and concerned about the filling coming out in the long run.

Fit is too big
Size is wayyyy off. I am large size, in everything I’ve ever bought. To be sure, I measured my chest before ordering, because some complained this vest was way too large. I ordered using the size chart, and the vest feels two sizes too big. Looks like a tent on me. I’m wondering if Columbia sold by Amazon are legit or fake. I can’t tell, but I’m not feeling impressed with this vest. I’m returning it for a Medium size (which was really easy to arrange with Amazon), but I’m expecting the Medium to be too big also. I just can bring myself to order a Small. I haven’t been “small” for over 40 years! Update: replacement vest arrived in two days... well done Amazon. This medium size is good for me. It fits like a large would fit me. The large size that I’d originally ordered, had 8 to 10” of extra material that I could grab into a ball, around my belly! This medium fits well, with no extra material. Perfect fit. Also, the arm holes are snug around my arms/shoulders. A great fit. The large was massively too big. Seems to me the large was labeled incorrectly, and was actually a XXL. But it should be noted that this medium is fitting larger than normal medium, as my chest measurement is 43/44”. Medium should be too tight on me; but it’s perfect. Again... I’m 5’ 9” tall, 185/190 lbs. Finally... this medium seems to be of better quality. The only thing I notice here is the brand labels look right. The large size looked cheap. I suspect there’s fake product filtering into the inventories, or possibly there are different manufacturing facilities with variable quality. Happy with this purchase, although it’s the only “medium” size clothing I own. ????

Great colour and product.
The vest arrived quickly and is well made. Only problem is if you are wide shouldered slim torso kinda guy. It fit nice through shoulders, but was too big through body.

Love the light weight n no bulkiness to it. easy fit for the car able to move with ease while keeping you warm like a bulky vest. Easy to wash when necessary

Charte de tailles à revoir
6'1" - 205 lbs. Taille XL Bon produit mais beaucoup trop grand même par dessus un manteau d'automne grandeur large. Malheureusement frais de retour à prévoir malgré l'erreur attribuable à la charte de grandeur qui est inexacte. Le diamètre de poitrine mesuré sous les aisselles sur l'article reçu est de 54 pouces au lieu de 46-49 tel qu'indiqué sur la charte!!
