Perfect replacement for Grenaded Governor
Make sure you lube it all up before you put it in place. There are some places, like the inside of the plunger, that don't easily get oil after it's inside. The plunger did have some minor blemishes/oxidation on the outside, but nothing I wasn't comfortable with. My throttle linkage disconnected from the governor arm, opening the throttle full. With no governor control, the engine ran away, spinning the governor with more force than it could handle. Picture is of the old broken governor. Make sure you fish out all the broken parts and clean the whole inside. It took me 5 hours of slow and deliberate disassembly of the engine, which I've never done before. But I saved hundreds of dollars by doing the repair myself. Needed a new gasket and bolts, and new oil and filter. Only cost $80 total for the repair.

Warning. You may need a new spring.
The part arrived just fine. Looks to be of better quality than the one that exploded in my engine. What they don't tell you is if you have an older machine, you'll need a new spring. This means you must refer to your owner's manual to see your idle specs, then order the replacement spring according to the chart they send you. I've included a picture of the chart. When using the original spring, my idle is upwards of 3800rpm. My engine is designed to be ran at 3000-3200rpm. I had installed an aftermarket tachometer/hour meter, so I was able to adjust the throttle accordingly while I wait for the spring to arrive. I found it cheapest on the Briggs and Stratton website ~ $11 shipped.

part needed a bit of modification
The governor needed a bit of modification to be installed. I had to tap the governor with a hammer to get it to install into the proper position. I don't think this will be a problem at all, but thought other users might like to know of my experience if they experience the same problem. If all goes well when I test the engine I won't follow up on this review. If I should have a problem I will review as 1 STAR. I expect all will be just fine.

Difficult one to review....
Because the original unit in my lawn tractor exploded after just 100 hours of light use, so I worry that this will do the same, UNLESS it is in some way upgraded from the original. Sadly, there is no aftermarket choice for this item, but it is pretty cheap really, so no worries there.

Very quick delivery & good price.
This is a exact fit for this engine. For some reason these engines have a bad design flaw that allows them to run full throttle if there is a failure in the governor linkage. (Example pine cone or tree branch ejected from mower deck)

Faulty unit
Immediately after installation by a certified mechanic the unit disintegrated upon startup. Hope that it was just a bad unit, as it was a good fit.
