Fits a Cub Cadet ZT2 60"

I bought a used ZT2 60inch mower last year and it came to me with a metal plate installed on the wash port cover. I bought this so I can keep the deck relatively clean throughout the season and it fit perfectly. Installation was easy enough. I recommend setting the deck height as high as it goes to help you get underneath more easily to fasten the nut on the bottom of the assembly.

Fit my Craftsmans Rider just fine

This deck wash kit does exactly what it was designed to do. I am glad I bought this product because it allows me to wash my lawn mower deck relatively hassle-free. Very pleased. Saves time.

I added two of these wash kits to my 42" mower deck. Since it never had any such device on it, I needed to drill holes in the deck. When drilling, observe both access to the quick connector side and where the spray will be under the deck. I used a 5/8" drill bit that just allowed the narrowest threaded part of the nozzle to extend partially into the mower deck. I say “partially” because the next stage of the nozzle is designed for a much larger size opening that is about 3/4" of an inch but has flat sides in order to help tighten the compression nut and assure proper direction of the nozzle spray. Since I did not do the larger opening, I had to be more careful that the nozzle direction was checked throughout tightening. The larger opening would have provided a better spray as the nozzle would have entered the mower deck deeper and might have preventing some of the leaking on the top of the deck. Frankly, I did not want to spend the entire day trying to make such a hole with a file. As it was, the installation took about 5 minutes each side. I used loctite on the threads to minimize loosening. Notice on the pictures how I needed the first nozzle located on the backside of the discharge shoot otherwise this area would always be packed with grass clippings. The deck can be seen to be pretty clean and it totally blasts all the paint off the underside of the deck. At first I was alarmed but as long as you do the wash most every time, it won’t get much of a chance of rotting out the metal. I start with the second port when washing and then move to the first port. You can tell it is clean when the water coming out of the discharge shoot is clean of the green water. Since I was testing the system, these pictures were after washing for about one minute at each port. The recommended is 2 minutes wash (each port) and 2 minutes for air drying. I now do the 2 minute and am very satisfied with the results. There is some leaking but for the fast installation and good results, I can live with a little leaking on the top of the deck.

Installed On My 2007 Craftman 42" Ride On

I have a 2007 Craftsman 42" ride on that did not originally have a port. I stumbled upon a YouTube video about cleaning a deck using the washer port and wished my mower had one. I searched Amazon and quickly found this could be added, so I watched a video on installing one and ordered it. I picked up a cheap step bit from HarborFreight for $6 and used the 5/8 size to drill the hole. Total instal took under 20 minutes and it seems to work well. If you need to drill a hole just be careful when installing, those drilled shavings are razor sharp, use a brush to clean off and not your hands. This is a very inexpensive add-on that can extend the life of my mower, money well spent!

Takes some fit-ment creativity

Put these on my Craftsman tractor mower deck. They didn't work very well. I cut the bottom of the nozzle off to make them spray straight down. They worked better. Deciding where to put them was a challenge but I looked at my Toro zero-turn which had them installed at the factory and tried to match up positioning. I managed to get them in an equivalent position. Also looked at the Toro to discover they sprayed straight down, hence cutting the bottom off. They work but jacking up the mower and spraying out the underside of the deck with a hose/nozzle works the best.

it was supplied with a steel option it was fitted to a BMC racer lawnmower in place of a useless plastic adaptor which could not fit a standard hose end. the existing hole had to be enlarged but now works well

you will need to drill a 3/4" hole then add a round file to enlarge the hole so that the deck piece fits snug ... obviously my deck did not have a predrilled hole for this product but did get two of them so metal on the lawn tractor deck and plastic on the lawn mower --- works ok but grass still gets hung up on both mowers, power washer is the answer

ESSENTIEL!

Toute tondeuse devrait être équipée d'origine de ce connecteur pour le nettoyage. De meilleurs instructions devraient être inclus pour faciliter l'installation sur les tondeuses moins récentes. Aide grandement à l'entretien et ainsi prévenir la corrosion. Cependant, je conseille de magasiner puisque j'ai acheté un second ensemble pour la moitié du prix chez Home Dépôt.ca (environ 15$ cad).

not all fittings correct

This kit is comprehensive and gives you both types of fittings required for the 2 types of deck wash systems fitted to Cub Cadet mowers. Please note that the hose fittings provided are not correct for the hoses we generally use in Australia and you will need to get a suitable plastic or brass quick connect fitting from your local store if you do not already have one. (the ones supplied only have an open threaded end and not the 2 piece clamping arrangement that attaches them to the end of the bare hose)
