Great item, solid quality

This is a neat little ice mold. I've used it plenty of times, and it works great. The only real problems that I've come across so far are: -Shot glasses can be tough to take out of the mold, and -Even with distilled water, the shot glasses don't come out as perfectly-shaped shot glasses - there are large bumps that form on the inside of the ice shot glass. I'm not sure if this is because the water is expanding in the mold while freezing or if it's because some of the gas that's dissolved in the water is trying to escape and causing a bubble. The latter gripe that I have experienced is something I've found somewhat of a workaround for. I've been filling these shot glass molds half full (in terms of overall height of the mold) and letting the water freeze, and then filling the rest of the mold and letting the rest of the shot glass freeze. This seems to alleviate some of the large bumps that form on the inside of the shot glass. When using these shot glasses, it's best to use chilled alcohol, because room temperature alcohol does obviously melt through the glasses a lot quicker. Also, I've found that these ice shot glasses make handy little dissolvable jiggers. I'll usually place an ice shot glass into my whiskey glass, fill it with my spirit of choice, and then fill the rest of my whiskey glass with my mixer. However, I usually do over-fill the jigger with alcohol just a tad because I like my drinks a little bit on the stronger side, but it works all the same.

Great gift

The one thing that sucks about this item is that sometimes there are bubbles that form when it's freezing and so when you put alcohol in them it leaks out the bottom.

A lot of fun at a party, especially if it is an outside party

The media could not be loaded. I'm really not the kind of guy who enjoys doing "shots." I'm more into sipping some good Scotch, no ice or water, over a long period of time. However, I have friends who enjoy a cold shot of something at a party or gathering. That is why I bought this mold. It produces four decent sized shot glasses made of ice. This is not for sipping or even drinking quickly and refilling. They are for shooting, downing the beverage as fast as possible. If you are outside then your guests can smash them on the patio like Greeks smashing plates at a wedding. I think that a creative mind could come up with all kinds of uses for these. An Irish Car Bomb, Tequila shots, Vodka shots, flaming shots, etc. I think that they work best when a cold liquor is added. I decided to show this mold in action so I made this short video review.
