Welcome to the Orbit eco-system
Nothing with Orbit is ever standard sizes. Given the cost of these, I suspect they'll fail at some point in the future. Thus I "invested" in they're quick disconnect manifold system. Ironically, one of the manifold pieces was the first to break. So far, the valves have held on. If I would have skipped the quick manifold system, then I could have stuck with the 3/4in PVC connectors, but then I'd be forced to redo the manifold if these things fail. I do appreciate how compact the valve is when combined with a pressure regulator.

Great design, but had to buy the various parts ...
I ordered six of these for a new raised planter installation. I used the Orbit "system" of valves, manifolds, and valve box bases. Great design, but had to buy the various parts from three different places. Having dealt with replacing buried valves in the past, the quick disconnect capability of the Orbit connections is great. These valves (both solenoid and filter sections) are twist off (no screws) for any required maintenance. The easy flush feature for the filter section is also great. I am not the first one to report receiving units without the Drip Adapter (only four of the six had adapters). Since I ordered these through a third party (Dustin James... buyer beware), and did not want to wait to install, I ordered the missing adapters myself. I had a hard time finding the part number (so did Orbit!), but Orbit customer service was great on the phone (Orbit 67461 1' Female Pipe Thread x 1/2" DripLock Tubing Adapter).

Get yourself some good PTFE tape
First of all, I have to say its nice to not have any threaded joints between the valve and filter, but you still have the ends... Take my advice, use at least 10 wraps of the cheap, white PTFE tape. One better, you can get yourself some Blue Monster tape, which is what I had to use. I could not get the outlet end to stop leaking. No matter what I tried, it didn't work. Also, don't use pliers. I broke the end connection, and probably cracked the valve body itself, so I had to buy a second unit. Just follow my advice: Hand tight, use a lot of tape, and don't use pliers. Cheers.

Very low flow
There is no flow specification in the product information but a 1” product should have plenty of flow so I purchased hoping for a simpler installation than what I use now. Reality is the output internal diameter is about 3/8” so this unit will be very noisy and unable to handle a lot of drip heads so I returned. I didn’t measure it but overall the unit is very long and possibly longer than typical separate valve/filter assemblies.

Work Great for Our Up the hill drip system
This valve for a drip system with a pressure regulator worked great for our drip system that is up a hill. It gets no back flow like you do with an anti-siphon valve when the line or sprinkler is higher than valve. They have to be ground level with a traditional valve. Not this valve I ordered it can be higher and no back flow five star product exactly what I needed no stores like Lowes or Home Depot had them in Stock.

Cool Piece of Hardware
Before buying this I had strung together: Filter, Pressure reducer and valve. The pressure reducer seeped a little water for the last couple of years. The valve worked for about eight years. I replaced all that with this one piece and six weeks later it fails to shut off one morning. I cycled it several times by turning the solenoid back an forth and pretty much got it to function OK. It still allows a slight bit of water through as evidenced by a wet spot on the sidewalk from the closest dripper. I am still giving it 4 stars as I feel its problems are probably the result of our having a little sand in our well water sometimes which is why I previously filtered ahead of the valve. I've purchased a whole house filter kit; just not got it installed yet.

So far, so good
Very well built, and so far has done a great job. The only reason I am giving 4-Stars is because I needed to add this to the Orbit 57253 3-Valve Manifold system, and there were no adapters available (even on Orbits site), so I ended up buying a 1" PVC Street-El (FPT x Slip), and an Orbit 57202 PVC Slip Swivel Adapter in order to add the valve to the manifold. I have never designed nor installed a sprinkler system before, so after buying the 3-valve manifold, I decided "what the heck, I am adding a "drip-line". So, the only reason for down-grading from a 5-Star to a 4-Star is that Orbit should make it easier for dumb do-it-your-self-ers like me, by making a 90 degree coupling. So, there! Otherwise, this thing works great and I am happy with it.

Some what easy to install
Had a problem with the valve unit leaking! Try reseating the jar lid 3 times before I applied plumbers tape to stop the leak. A bit of a pain removing the whole unit each time to be able to get to the cap. But in the end the unit is working great and no Leaks! Went with a total of 8 zones and controller made by Orbit as well as their rip watering system.
