Nice, tight re-installation of a vintage bathroom fixture.

When I lifted a 1930s commode, the old brass closet flange had a lead contrivance running down from it - which ended up being destroyed in the process of its removal. My objective was to reinstall the same bowl, but I needed a new flange, and this one came with the extended length that replaced the piece of lead piping. My soil pipe is 4 inch diameter pipe. This unit fit nicely into the pipe, and was very easy to tilt-and-twist to get the rubber gasket to move up, expand around the flange unit, seating and sealing against the pipe. Seems to have provided a good seal, and created a solid support for the closet bolts. Allowed me to properly seat and reinstall the vintage fixture, Simple and efficient to use. Insert, tilt slightly so the rubber gasket gets a grip on the side of the drain pipe, and turn to expand it. The flange unit itself tapers to a wider outside diameter toward the flange end, which is how the gasket expands to provide a tighter seal. Created a nice, stable installation.

Amazon always has better prices than big box stores!

I purchased both the 3in and 4in from the warehouse. Arrived clean and like new. The 3in was too small and did not match the description so I returned that one and kept the 4in which meet our needs and matched had the description (as far as the angle, so that no waste is lingering around the rim). Amazon warehouse!

I am no professional plumber by all means as a matter of fact barely know anything on DIY home repairs. That being said, once I got the toilet off floor and chiseled old broken flange off this one went on so easy I didn't even have to use the concrete bits to drill into my floor which I was so wanting to avoid. It was level once tightened so nothing else I had to do to it I was so happy with result. Now as far as longevity, not sure but it seemed very dense plastic so hopefully it will last a long time. (review by 33 year old woman, no prior repair experience)

This is a well-made ingenious item. All I had to do was cut off the old flange, twist the ring down to the end of this one press it into the pipe turn it until it got tight. And install 4 wood screws. It is very sturdy. I didn't measure but I think this item expanded at least 1in in diameter. My toilet now has a very nice tight seal to the drainpipe and I don't think I will ever have to replace this item.

Missing gasket

Prompt shipping -- same day. Flange arrived in box with an Oatey tag, no packaging, and NO gasket. Might work fine if all parts were included.

Great - until you go to install the T-bolts

This flange has a non-standard, extra wide T-bolt slot. I have tried 2 separate brands of T-bolts and they both spin inside the slot, because they cannot wedge into the walls of the slot. This means you can't tighten the toilet down. Worse, if nut were to corrode, which they always do, the T bolt will spin inside the flange and you won't be able to remove the toilet in the future. Do not buy unless you have extra-wide T-bolts that will lodge correctly into the slots.

This flange worked perfectly for me. I had an old 4 inch cast iron sewer pipe that I cut off at about floor level. Once I had my plywood and vinyl tile set, this thing tightened in the sewer pipe as advertised and is very solid after I screwed it to the floor.

missing gasket makes for incomplete feature

The feature gasket was missing. The concept is that the tapered screw will tighten against the pipe by driving up the gasket. Without a gasket this feature does not work. I will have to improvise. 2 stars for fast delivery. Missing part costs 3 stars. Nice looking white toilet flange with long insert. Fits flush, 4 inch model.
