Just the boot I was searching for.

I spent a while looking for a pair of suede chukkas like the ones I got after I saw Steve McQueen in the Great Escape when I was a kid. I didn't want the exact replicas, just something close and comfortable and these boots nailed it at a great price. Super stylish and comfortable and I think the King of Cool would approve.

Practically perfect (except....)

These boots were exactly what I was looking for. The right shade of brown (not too red or yellow), three eyelets not two, not too sleek looking or too clunky. After I received them, I was also surprised at the quality of the suede given the price point. Overall, I am more than pleased with the look and feel of these boots. That said, I was also concerned about the strong chemical smell reported by others. I looked elsewhere for other chukkas that wouldn't have a smell, but could not find any others that ticked all the boxes these did. So, I decided to risk it and bought these. When I got them out of the box, I could see they were exactly what I was looking for. However, there was a strong chemical smell. This smell seemed to dissipate somewhat over time, but was still noticeable. The memory foam insert is used as major selling feature of these boots, but I wondered if they might be the source of the smell. I removed them from the boots and replaced them with other insoles, which seemed to help substantially mitigate the smell. As far as the fit, other chukkas I have bought have run large, so I sized down 1/2 size for these. This was good, although I think I could have sized down a whole size and the fit would have been perfect. Still, the insoles I inserted helped with the fit. Overall, I am quite pleased with these boots. They are extraordinarily versatile, and go with just about everything. They seem well-constructed, but I am not sure how durable they will be. I am looking for a shoe that I can just throw on and wear almost every day. These boots seem durable enough, but as they are not actually Goodyear-welted (though they have the faux stitches to appear welted), I know that if the soles wear out I won't be able to replace them, which definitely limits the durability of these shoes. Still, it would be unrealistic to expect Goodyear-welting at this price point, so time will tell. Otherwise, I am quite pleased with the look and feel of these boots.

Pretty solid

I bought these boots back in December, and I've worn them almost daily since then, including in a few circumstances that I hadn't intended to put them through (heavy rains, unexpected trips through the woods, etc.). Given what I paid for them, I'm impressed by how well they've held up. By now they're definitely showing their wear, but I've paid more for shoes in the past and gotten less. The laces had to be replaced, but otherwise the shoes are doing okay, and I'll probably buy another pair. Fit is good, comfort is better than I had expected, and the chemical smell was non-existent on my pair (I probably got lucky). They don't look as sharp as when I bought them, but they're still fine. For a shoe that I took a gamble on, they're great.

I was a little bit nervous at first

I was nervous that these would be too wide or narrow without trying them on first, but they fit great! I bought a wide size, and they are pretty true to size, and I have wide feet. They are very nice looking, and the quality seems to be very good. Definitely pick up a combination suede brush with boar and brass bristles to keep them looking nice. Some people complain about a smell. They have a slight chemical smell, but it's probably just the chemicals from tanning the leather. It's really not bad, and smells like a new shoe. It went away after wearing the shoes a few times

Found a pair of Desert Boots that fit

Hard to find shoes that fit correctly. Only wore a couple times but seem To be good so far. Once they are broke In I think they will be great.

Really like these shoes and they look great with my levis jeans i just bought on amazon! going to get another pair soon! Just come back to say again these are great shoes and i just ordered a second pair one for work and one for showing off just becuase i like to look good! Great fit, comfortable!

I bought these to use in place of ‘rough-out’ boots when I am doing WWII re-enactments. I was told these look similar. Couldn’t find them in a store. I went to store to find out what size would fit of other Nunn Bush boots and then ordered these in the same size. Perfect! They run the same size as my normal Red Wing boots. They are very comfortable and I’m thinking of getting another pair similar to these as a dress shoe/boot.

Free shoes lol

Amazon sent me two incorrect orders I ordered the nubuck but got suede twice computer error in factory so the second pair was free as I got a refund. I own Clarks desert boots and these Nunn Bush are way better. Better arch and has a shank for more support fits a little large but 11.5 was out of stock. Memory foam and I think it's dyed crepe sole a lot thinner than the Clarks but still way more comfy shoe only got a 4 star cause the shoes are great Amazon messed up the 5 star rating lol

Comfortable and good quality. This was my second pair.
