Right price – not the best gameplay experience
$10ish for two pre-constructed starter decks (including Arena codes) is a great price... BUT the gameplay, even for beginners, isn't as interesting as the 5 decks included with the "Game Night Free-For-All" product (~$40) or what you get from buying four packs of Jumpstart to make two decks ($20–30, depending on set). Hmm, I may be talking myself into this being a KILLER deal as all my examples of better products are more expensive per deck ($8+ for Game Night; $12+ for Jumpstart). I'll just say that the decks play very similarly with both being very straightforward "Tap lands, get creatures. Tap creatures, attack opponent." Then little more than just +1/+1 buff effects and evasion via flying. (it's not that simple, but it's close to it). BUT, I may be talking myself into this being a great, cost-effective product for absolute beginners...

Great for online play decks
I stink at making decks. Period. Any chance to get workable decks at good prices appeals to me, so this set was a no-brainer. So far I have played both decks on Arena and have won more often than not, about 75% win rate, which is great, in my book. The code works to unlock both decks, which are in the standard rotation. Great buy!

Great for beginners
I love this game and bought these as a way to try and get my boyfriend into it. It came with two decks so he could choose which color combination he liked. We've played a couple of games now and he's already looking at more magic cards. 10/10 this did exactly what I wanted it to.

Makin' Magic
I played Magic:The Gathering back in the day when it first came out. I've since sold my vintage collection, but I wanted to have some card decks on hand for fun. These are perfect for casual play and for beginners looking to get into the game. The decks look interesting and are a good value for starter decks. My wife and I will have game nights with these decks, trading off so we can enjoy the different colors. ~ Kort

Beginner friendly
If you been wanting to play MTG just get one of these to learn. Easy decks to play, nothing too complicated unlike the Commander decks. Save yourself $40 and grab one of these first

Delivered safely despite not having any type of protection, it was in one big box with another item just getting slammed around. Overall a great product for someone who is starting to learn mtg.

Good stater pack for learning the game
This was my first time playing magic or really getting any exposure to the game. That being said, I think these are both good starter decks that do a good job exposing you to the game. Gameplay seems pretty quick and easy enough to pick up on after a few matches, and theres a good variety of creatures, spells, etc in each deck to keep the game interesting. All around I think this is a good starter pack that can give you something to build on. My only real con was that the rules were a bit confusing at first if you're learning on your own, but there's lots of tutorials on the internet and the MTG Arena app is really good at helping you learn the game. After you install the game/app you can create an account and go through some tutorials that do a good job showing you how the game works and start playing some matches. I'd definitely recommend it if your new and looking to give Magic a shot

Missing a card
Only came with 119 cards, not 120, so can’t be used on its own to start a game. I counted up the cards a dozen times and checked and packaging. Otherwise, it is perfect.

Great product but could've been better
The starter kit is great value for money. To demonstrate, a Dominaria United Set Booster costs £5.99, 5 of those are £25.97 (the price of two 2 booster sets plus one single booster), so you get 5 booster packs worth of cards for £18.52 less than what you'd usually get plus an extra 6 cards for good measure. For the non-lands, you get about 56 commons and 10 rares, with two of the rares being foils. For the lands, you get 54 lands total, 8 being multi colour lands (very useful) and 46 being regular colour lands (all the lands are common). All of this is divided between two decks, one red green and another white blue. The starter kit also comes with two codes that each unlock both decks from the kit in MTG: Arena. You can use one of the codes to get the decks and give the second one to your friend so both of you can play both decks in the game. Now for the not so good parts of this product. This product was released in 2022, but it was released on the 3rd of June, so any magic set released after that time, Commander Legends: Battle For Baldur's Gate, Double Masters 2022, and Dominaria United so far, won't be in the kit. A more noticeable flaw is how the play guide in the kit doesn't teach you as much as it should. While it does teach you a good amount of basics and keywords, I was surprised that there was no mention of summoning sickness or how creatures restore their defence at the end of the combat phase since both of those are quite important basics to know of when playing magic. Additionally, the guide didn't even touch on the stack or the turn phases, which, while not exactly basic knowledge, are very useful to know for beginners and intermediate players alike. Even with the basics it does cover it doesn't explain them in detail, which might not seem necessary, and yet, my Mum, who I've introduced mtg to, still feels confused by the mechanics, despite playing just fine, which might not have happened if the guide went in more detail on what you can and can't do in magic. To counter the guide not explaining all the rules I'd recommend starting MTG: Arena alongside buying the starter kit (if you're playing by yourself) or having someone who knows magic play with you (what I did for me Mum). Besides, you get a free code for the decks in MTG: Arena so you're incentivised to play Arena anyway. Overall this was a great product (if I don't have any other decks I'll play the starter decks I got with a local mtg group) and was 100% worth the money. I just wish it could've been a little better

Great for beginners
Bought as a beginner myself, the price was very good and all the cards were in perfect condition, it came with carrying cases which are good for travel, this pack is great for beginners.
