MEASUREMENT UPDATE

I emailed the manufacturer regarding the size of the inch measurement and received this response, I thought it would be helpful and show the measurement is producing correct results: Rulers measure length - rain gauges measure volume. To measure volume, you need to take into consideration the height, width and depth of the bucket itself. This rain gauge is not a perfect cubic square. Think of measuring cups in a kitchen. a 4 cup measuring cup will have a 1 cup mark on the side, and a 1 cup measuring cup will also have a 1 cup mark on the side, But since the 4 cup measuring cup is much wider, the 1 cup mark will be much lower on the side than it is on the 1 cup measuring cup. The marks are calibrated to the volume on the inside of the cup so thickness of the tube itself is also a part of the equation. We have several different rain gauges. Some are wider at the top than at the bottom. On those gauges, the markings for the top inch of rain tube will be different spacing than they are for the first inch of rain.

It’s just beautiful!

This rain gauge is so pretty! The butterfly is visible from multiple angles. It is also sturdy and stays in place despite rain storms even though I didn’t secure it down. It is easy to read from inside; it sits appropriately 6-7 feet from my back door. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Wife loves it

Nice little peice. Only thing i would change is either make it bigger or put some sort of weight in the base. We had to put rocks on ours to keep wind from taking it off out patio table. But its real glass, and real metal so it seems of quality otherwise. Wife loves it

Nice!!

This is a nice rain gauge, very pretty and easy to read. Has a small hole in the base to attach it. I fastened mine to my deck rail. Love it!!

Not Centered

This is a nice rain gauge, however it is not centered over the screw hole. I am afraid to bend it, fear of it breaking off at the weld spot.
