Did not work for me

I actually returned this item. It did not fit on the tub well and the soap dish was too small to hold a regular size bar of soap. I'm sure I could have bent it to fit the tub but I could not have fixed the fact that the soap holder was so small.

Good quality

Wanted to love this but it didn’t fit over the side of my claw foot tub. It was way too large.

Nice item but doesn't hang right

Beautiful. Well made. But you have to have exactly the right kind of tub to hand it on in order to get it to hang right, even counting the ability to bend it. I bet it doesn't fit many tubs.

Not very functional

There are a few issues I had with this basket when we received it. First, the handle that goes over the tub needs to be bent and manipulated before it will sit on the tub without falling off. That's fine, but I am scared I'm going to break it every time I mess with it. Second, the small soap holder on the side is screwed on and spins all the way around. We tightened the screws to solidify it, but I'm sure we'll be tightening screws every so often to keep it from spinning around. Third, the small basket is very small. It does not fit a standard bar of soap. Even the smaller sized soap I buy is too big. It would probably fit a tiny hotel size soap and that's about it. The larger part of the basket will fit one shampoo bottle and that's about it. The finish is nice and it feels like decent quality otherwise. It matches our Kingston Brass faucet and looks nice on the tub, but isn't very functional. Shipping was fast, received in perfect condition.

OK but not perfect

There are not many chrome soap holders for clawfoot tubs out there. This one has a bit of a clunky design with the "beaded" construction. Also, you have to shape the arm of the holder to fit your tup. My husband had to do it as I did not have the strength. For the price, I would like a better design.

I generally look for Kingston Brass products for their quality/value. This soap holder is really nicely made, good looking and for me the perfect size. Personally I really like the swinging soap holder. It is actually brilliantly engineered, and if you use small bar soap like Bee & Flower, the perfect size. Your average bar of supermarket soap will not fit. But think about a wet bar of soap being put into a typical soap dish. If it's a solid dish the soap sits in a wet soapy bath and the bar disintegrates quickly. In this soap holder, the soap dries and sticks to the wire cage it is sitting in. Normally it would be difficult to pry out, but by flipping the dish over, the soap is easily popped out, and the bar is not melting in a pool of water. Great design KB!

unstable on tub rim

I redecorated and needed to get rid of my old brass tub basket, so I bought this one. The quality is nowhere the same , and I broke one of the prongs trying to bend it to fit the tub as the basket fell off immediately as sold. I had to have the prong soldered on at a blacksmith shop. It is still unstable if I put very much weight in it--it will fall off the side of the tub.

Works Great

Works great with out 1930 cast Iron tub. I just bend it under the lip of the tuck for extra hold.
