Style & design are great, but faulty manufacturing
These lamps were exactly what I wanted for bedside reading. Color and appearance were a perfect match for my decor, and the size and style were just right as well. After installing them, I removed the lamps that had been taking up space on my nightstands, creating a tidier appearance. Installation was fairly easy (I mounted them on the wall, but plugged them into nearby outlets. They also can be hard-wired, but obviously that's not an easy thing to do in an existing house.) All you need to do is drill 4 holes in the wall for the set of screws that is used to attach the mounting plate to the wall. I agree with the other reviewer, who strongly advised against using the included drywall anchors because the anchors looked pretty flimsy, although that would not be a problem if you are mounting into studs because the supplied screws would be fine for that. All was well until, after mounting them, I noticed that each lamp shade hung slightly crooked. The fault is in the arcing tube that comes up from the mounting plate and curves out to the top of the lampshade - on both of mine, the part that hangs from this tube does not hang straight down, but is slightly angled to one side (both lamps were the same in this regard). I really like the lamps and didn't want to go through the delay and hassle of exchanging them, with no certainty that the replacements would be better, so I did my best to adjust the shades to minimize any appearance of tilting. If I can't get used to this over time, I might take them down and try to bend the metal tubes. Summary: Really nice design, appearance is great, but suffers from quality control in the manufacturing process. Needless to say, these lamps, like 90% of all products being sold these days, are made in China. :-(

It'll do in a pinch but it's got some issues...
Even though I purchased this, I didn't really want it... not my style but the wifey asked so I obliged. Here's my issue with these bad boys... The lights I'm using with them are LIFX BR30 bulbs. They're great... & bright which is why I wanted them. Using them in these however can be annoying... reason being is that the lampshades are shallow & have no diffuser for the light. So whatever bulb you use, the longer it is, the more it's going to peek out the bottom of the shade. These LIFX joints don't breach the bottom of the shade but they come CRAZY close. Granted, this isn't the manufacturers fault but a diffuser on the bottom of the shade would have helped TREMENDOUSLY. About the only bulbs you can use with these to not get a blinding light in your face are standard, super shallow joints & no one uses those anymore. Another issue is the build quality. The one's that we received were a little scratched at the top of the arm. They also wobble a bit & just overall feel kinda' cheap. All in all, I've dealt with worse & again I'm biased to higher quality stuff so I can't front them for that. Not everyone can be Vita Copenhagen.

Almost excellent
At this price point perfection is impossible. We have tried others and are sticking with these. Downsides: When the arm is tightened- it gets close to level but still appears to sag - but when the arm is tightened, the lamp arm cannot swing side to side. When arm is loose it really sags. We needed them to swing because they do come out from the wall quite a bit. They do hinge at the socket in one direction - so you just twist the socket so it hinges in the direction you prefer which is a nice feature if you tighten the arm. We hard wired the lamps with a dimmer switch- my electrician wasn't in love with my choice but I was done searching. They are a little sensitive - flicker - if the switch on the lamp wall plate is touched. The finish is rubbed bronze with bronze only being noticeable on the edges of the wall plate - otherwise I'd say it's more of a black finish. The shade is a basic tan/ burlap color.

I like this lamp
I like this lamp. I don't like the way it's being sold on this website. The lamp comes with a 24" tubular cord cover. Unfortunately, this is not shown in the photos or mentioned anywhere in the text. Amazon "helpfully" suggested that I purchase a matching cord cover, so I did. They'll be getting it back. The lamp is solidly made and looks great. As mentioned by others, the anchoring hardware supplied with the lamp is a joke and should be thrown away. One small quibble I have is that the horizontal segment of the swing arm is tipped down just a tad, which detracts from the 'feng shui' just a bit, but the lamp holder is adjustable and this ensures that the shade can be made level.

Beautiful, Stylish, and Functional
I purchased two of these lamps for use as bedside lighting. I am completely in love with them. The quality is excellent and I am totally satisfied with my purchase. I found that the description did not contain a lot of information I wanted so let me tell you more about it. The lamp comes wired for plug in use but it has the option to be hard wired. The plug in cord is of a very high quality, better than any other lamps in our home. The lamp comes with two lengths of cord cover totaling around 24 inches. The arm has about a 45 degree turning radius from side to side but can be tightened down so that it doesn't swing. I would give the installation only 3 stars, but since I'll only install them once...I don't think it should detract from the overall score. A word of advice...USE YOUR OWN DRYWALL ANCHORS! The anchors that come with the lamps are complete garbage. I've never seen anything like them. Just simple tubes that you stick in the wall. No idea how they're meant to work. Other than that, I feel like I really scored with these lamps!

Nice design, Poor quality control
The lamp design is nice and the substantial steel disk base would make it very stable. Assembly was relatively straightforward for a floor lamp: threaded sections screwed together. Unfortunately the unit we got had two problems: 1) the rotary switch mounted in the pole has a substantial metal knob, but the underlying switch body is plastic and the threaded portion of the body (which is fastened by a metal nut) had snapped, so the switch still worked but the knob and switch shaft were no longer secured to the lamp pole. 2) the upper horizontal section holding the lamp socket is secured by a screw through the outer pole into a threaded hole in the inner connecting sleeve. This hole was positioned so that when it was fastened, the lamp socket was 10-15° from vertical. The lamp would be fine otherwise but I am returning ut because of these defects.

exactly as pictured….but I do wish the shade had not been described as ivory. it's not really accurate, it is definitely the brown colour in the picture. i was sort of hoping the picture was not really accurate…..however - they are lovely stylish lamps, unique on the market as far as I can tell, and I don't have the problem others mentioned with the lamps not being quite straight. easy to mount (I used the plug-in option, did not wire it in). would def. recommend to others..
