Love the Katadyn- the replacement filter delivers

I love my Katadyn water filter sooo much for travel ???? It has saved me from tummy troubles more than once. This replacement filter is straightforward and effective. If you have the Katadyn, then get an extra filter for your go bag.

Replacement.

The media could not be loaded. I use this filter to replace the one that was 2 years old, in my Vario filter system. Temperatures got below Zero and filter and the entire system froze. Any part of the system that held water froze. Luckily i didnt use it like this but i can see it not functioning or breaking. So be careful in extreme cold temperatures.

A Swiss Masterpiece!

I bought this product as a replacement for my Katadyn Vario filtration system (as intended), and I trust this will work when the time comes. I buy backup parts to different pieces of gear that I purchase to make them last as long as they can. You can say that I think ahead, and I try to prepare for the unexpected. I have good faith in Katadyn's products (which are Swiss Made, and it's great!) and I will recommend this to everyone who's wanting to extend the life of their Katadyn filter.

The Vario is a great unit, but remember it is not optimally a water FILTER, it is actually a PURIFIER. Using this unit in really dirty, sediment filled water is sometimes necessary though when on the trail. This cuts the life of the filter dramatically, as it gets clogged. This replacement filter is great to have when you get home. A bit pricey, but well worth it for clean drinking water on the trail. I love my Vario, and this stock replacement filter comes with new o rings and even a bit of silicone.

Replacement Filter was OK

The replacement filter was OK. Newer Katadyn Vario filter replacement comes with an outer plastic mesh. I had problems with the Vario as the filter clogs quickly in the crystal clear water in the Boundary Waters. There must be a fine glazieral silt in the water that the filter picks up and clogs it up.

Does what it says it will do

Very effective filter. I have used the K-Vario system for 4 years and been very pleased with it's performance. Just replaced the filter after at least 100 uses in the backcountry with all types of water, from clear to sandy, to muddy. I would recommend this filter and system without hesitation. I would have rated it 5 stars except for the price.

Smart "back-up" purchase

Great price for an equally great product. Much like any other filter used for any other purpose, filters need to be replaced/changed to continue to maximum their function. The main reason why I purchased the Katadyn Vario is that it performs this function better than the others, not to metion that all the filtering "guts", i.e., the foam & charcoal and ceramic disc are all replacable in this item, which when relaced, restores the Vario back to brand new functioning condition. A must have for frequent hikers/campers/back-packers who do not "pack" fluids.

Works great!

We have a Katadyn water filter we take into the mountains on pack trips and they work great! I had to replace mine due to me not cleaning it in a timely manner.

Um ehrlich zu sein ....

kann ich nichts darüber sagen. Fragt mich wieder wenn es einen Blackout oder Zombiapokalypse gegeben hat. Bis dahin liegt es im Keller. Meine Hoffnung ist, das ich es irgendwann einfach wegwerfe :-))
