Lightweight but very warm, fits well but not tight for small hat size

I need a new warm hat, since it's looking like we'll be in this poorly-insulated house most of the winter, and my old one was worn out last year and disposed of. I hoped this beanie might actually run in the small-to-medium range for hat sizes, and it does; I wear a 6-7/8 hat size and it doesn't fall off, but I can fit 4 fingers under it easily, and it can accommodate a fist next to my temple without being so tight as to give me a headache, which should fit hat sizes up to about an 8. I love this because it's thin enough to wear under a hood, or wear overnight on cold nights to limit heat loss from my head while sleeping (a necessity when even with the space heaters running flat out, I can wake up to 43 degrees inside the house during cold snaps). The stitching is sturdy, and the fabric does seem to be fairly water repellent, though it will eventually get wet if you're out running in the rain for a long time or skiing while it's snowing the heavy wet stuff. It's a dark gray, which is one of the two base colors in my wardrobe, so it'll go with pretty much anything I wear; while I believe staying warm is more important than looking coordinated, I'll happily choose a color that will coordinate easily if I have a choice. The lining is a black microfleece which has a white polyester tag and a small ribbon Isotoner tag sewn into one of the seams; if you remove the white tag carefully, you could have a reversible beanie with a contrasting band and a very subtle tag.

Very soft and warm

At first impression, this seems like a very nice hat. It is extremely soft and will definitely keep heads warm. I’m deducting a star because it seems as though this hat isn’t created for men. (Unless they have a smaller head) If this product description said youth or young men’s I would keep all 5 stars. My husband has an average size noggin and this is pretty tight and doesn’t cover his ears unless he unfolds the hat. It still looks pretty tight, but he does say it is warm and comfy. If you have a smaller head or are buying for a teen or youth, I would recommend.

Comfortable and warm!!

The hat is super soft and fits snug without that squeezing your head feeling. As the description states this is a beanie fit so do not expect this to cover your ears if you have a large head (like me). The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is the soft fabric seems to attract dust and I feel like I will be constantly brushing it off. That said, I wont have to worry about my bald head ever being cold again this winter. Solid product.

Very soft and comfortable

This hat does run a little on the small side, in my opinion. It is fairly thin, but it is good for fall days and early winter. It probably wouldn't be my first choice on a windy freezing winter day. It is nice that with light rain and snow it rolls off and doesn't absorb. I'm assuming with a heavier rain the hat would end up wet after a while.

Just barely works for those with Large/XL size heads

Material is really nice especially being water repellent (worn just now in the cold rain and confirmed) Machine washer friendly If you are pure XL for head size I would not go for this hat, I am L border on XL and it comes just to where the bottom of ears show. fits snug does not move was not a bother even after a few hours like some others

Warm but not very flexible

Beanie fits as expected and is immediately warms your head but it is not very flexible and fits snugly.

Soft and lightweight.

The hat itself if the safest beanie I have ever purchased and will be great in fall and spring. I would not recommend this for a harsh winter.
