I broke 2 hand-turned taps prior to this purchase. Although I did not use it in a drill, I did successfully use it manually for well over a dozen taps into v-slot aluminum. I did manually vs. drill because I was concerned about the prior post's warning of having a perfectly clean unthreaded M5 hole. Manual turning was a bit hard on the hands, but this tap was stronger than the other two and got the job done.

and it worked like a charm

Used this with a hand drill to tap 2020 aluminum extrusion, and it worked like a charm. Advice: Go slow, at medium torque. Use tapping fluid. Reverse drill direction every turn or two to break chips (as if using a hand tap). I found that backing out completely was necessary sometimes to clear the flutes. Was able to tap full threads well over 10mm deep with this method, no problems.

Much better than the cheaper bits

Coworker broke my previous Greelee bit but subjected it to too much torque without any cutting fluid. New one works just as well as the first one did when cared for properly. Much better than the cheaper bits.

best tap ever, prime delivery is awesome as always!

This is a great tap. With the drill bit built in, there is never an alignment issue. One note of caution: the debur end will make a great countersink, but can strip the hole if you are running to fast.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Do not buy. Broke in half. Now whatever I was tapping threads for has a stuck tap in it. Good luck to ke getting this out.

Taps nicely and as soon as it's done tapping the drill removes the threads so you now have a perfectly made clear hole for an M5...
