Okay overall product and mostly as described. Installation was simple if you have any basic electrical knowledge. Q/A says to use a 3-3/8" hole saw. I found the housing needed a 4-1/2" hole saw to fit without jamming and bending the trim. Speaking of, trim is flimsy and easily bends during installation but not so much that I would consider the product defective. I also ordered 16 total and some are missing the connection springs attached to the baffle trim insert that connects to the can. These things happen but it still costs a star.

Quality housings... does not fit the 5 inch LED retrofit lights though...
These recessed lighting boxes were very well made and quality build. Much better quality than what you find at the big stores. Please note that although it says it is a 5 inch recessed light, your normal 5 inch LED retrofit units will NOT fit in these housing. Looks like it is made for halogen/CFL/LED bulbs but not the retrofit kits that are so popular these days. The white ring trim is riveted to the housing.

Great inexpensive light, easy to use.
I used these in my kitchen with dimmable LED BR30 bulbs. Installed very easily, look and work great. Notes: Verify there are no obstructions before cutting your hole When verifying that there are no obstructions use a wire coat hanger. Bend a 90 degree bend at least half the diameter of the light. have a 90 bend on the hanger where your hand is too pointing in the same direction as your bend for the light. Insert the hanger through ceiling and turn the hanger 360 degrees. Do this at different heights at least as high as the light will be. If you hit anything you will know where it is based on the direction of the bend by your hand. You will need a 1/2 in. Knockout Sheathed Cable Connector if using something like romex. The template is part of the box, just cut it off and use a pencil to mark your cut.

Compact design
Nice and easy instal. Compact design saved lots of hassle and space. Note that listing was incorrect at the time. if ordering case (4) plus individual lights if needed ,they were not all outdoor lights. They are available just not by the convienent case/ single button. They were different at the time. Just as look close. Had to exchange.

Great Lights - Cost Effective.
These lights are a huge upgrade. I live in what I call a "hobbit house" where the ceilings are a bit shorter. It used to be a cottage and was converted back in the 80's into a home. When we moved in, there were 3 ceiling fans which lowered the ceiling from 8 feet to about 6 1/2 feet. I took them down and put in these lights in our kitchen. It made the world of difference. I almost gave these 4 stars because one of them was buzzing when the lights were not 100% on. I fiddled with it a little and found that if I turn out the LED light 1/4 turn, the humming stopped altogether. Great simple lights - rated for insulated so install is a bit messy but easy. I put them in an existing home and they are working well. Wiring was pretty simple but take a little know-how. Check out YouTube for some easy lessons.

These lights made me look good!
These lights were extremely easy to install once I figured out where I could place them based on the structure in the attic. I drilled small holes and then stuck wire coat hangers through them so I could see if I had enough clearance in the attic, then adjusted accordingly. The template takes the guess work out of hole figuring out the required hole dimension out. I used a retractable razor blade to cut the paper layer of the drywall, then used a drywall saw to cut "pie pieces" out and pushed them up through the attic. Each hole took less than 2 mins to cut. I used the 14/2 wire to connect them all together and had no problems. Suggestion: used the tape that comes with them. It'll save a lot of frustration. All in all They look great and I feel like a lighting pro! I'm already planning on installing more in a hallway.

I have 5 inch recessed lights already and wanted to replace them. these are not 5 inch. they measure just under 4 inch across the opening of the can itself. they have a lip or flare to the end of the can that makes them close to 4 1/2 if measured across this. when cutting holes for the recessed lights the holes are slightly bigger than the can. ex: 5 inch may have a cut out of 5 1/2 inches or more depending on maker. so these just go right thru my existing holes. the description of these lights need more details. they are nice, they do work for shallow applications and would work if you don't already have recessed lights. wont work for any 5 inch existing recessed light.

Electrician had no problems!
Searched high and low for many months to find an IC-rated lighting KIT as opposed to buying 'separates'. These went up easily, electrician had no problems and now I have light! The 5" size was perfect for my low ceilings. I used R20~ 8w ~ Flood ~ Soft White (2700k) LED dimmable bulbs with a dimmer suitable for LED bulbs and rarely do I have the lights on full bright and there is no hum. The lights are 'instant on' when I hit the switch. I bought 2 sets (of 4) and initially had 7 installed, before the final installation of a new kitchen I decided to put the last one up. Provided light in a dark corner and in spite of the ceiling being 'sealed up' the electrician was able to connect all together with no problem. Happy with this purchase and I have no worries about the insulation in the attic with this lighting kit and bulb combo. There is virtually no heat radiating from these.

Inconsistent Product Ordering
I originally ordered this product (4 Pack) and when I decided I actually needed more, I order some 1 Packs. Although part of the same listing, the 4 Pack lights are not the same as the 1 Pack lights. Now I have a 4 pack of lights that I cannot use because I have more of the 1 pack lights and I can't return them since it is past my return period. Edit: These say PAR30 bulbs, but these do not fit at all. Order PAR20 bulbs only. You will be much happier.
