Did the trick!
Boat fits in my garage! Cut off 34” of overall length. Install went well, but I suggest drilling one hole at a time and add the bolt before go to the next.

This made it easier to park my boat in my garage. As you would expect, it is heavy duty so will not be a concern when towing down the road. The exact amount of shortening you get will depend upon your trailer and location of your winch stand.

Overall Good Product
The brackets themselves are very strong and should last many years of service. The fitment to my 3x3 tongue was not exactly super snug, but pretty close. If I can fault this part of the assembly, it would be that I wish it extended a little further onto each section of tongue. Maybe inch longer on each piece, with mounting holes that much further apart. I get that they want to make this fit with a small footprint, but on applications closer to the max loading a little bit more length would be desirable. The included hardware is a mixed bag. They do include a punch, which is a nice bonus and works fine. They also include a torx bit (T-55 I think). Its junk. I almost could not finish the job with it due to fatigue in the teeth. The bolts are clearly custom made, and that is always a bad thing. They are about 1/4 inch too short for my liking, and being torx bit heads is also undesirable. I would have preferred hex or hex flange bolts, as the torx heads also fatigued a bit during installation. They include flange nuts rather than locknuts or flange locknuts. The absence of locknuts means you will preiodically have to re-torque this. But, the included torx bit will be spent by the end of this job, and the bolt heads are also fatigued. I figure I will have to replace all of this hardware within a year just to be safe. The hinge bolt and pin are good quality and I dont expect a problem there. Start to finish, this is no less than a 2 hour job. More likely you will spend 3 hours. You will need a set of fantastic drill bits and a couple quality sawzall blades. Also, everything else they mention. You may also need to re-wire, but that depends on your trailer. If you are going with battery powered tools, make sure to have a couple spare batteries fully charged a ready to go. The final product looks good, and I am very happy with it. I was able to fit my trailer in the garage with a couple inches to spare. Time will tell if this holds up, but I have no reason to believe this wont last. My trailer will be garage kept, so I am not too worried about corrosion. Also, my trailer is only 400lbs with a 350lb Gheenoe on it. Tongue weight is only about 75lbs. I went with a 33 inch pivot point, which the chart says can hold 380lb tongue weight. I would buy this again, though I would strongly consider buying different mount hardware. This would probably add $30 to the overall purchase, but I believe I would be happier in the end. Minus 1 star for the less than good mount hardware and poor quality torx bit.

Worked great
I used this to shorten my stored trailer length by 36". The instructions were well written and easy to follow. After install the trailer pulled great and the joint was solid, I felt no flex or clunking at all.

Fantastic Product
Fantastic product! Superbly engineered. I can't believe I waited 12 years t figure out I could create so much useful space in my garage. I can now use my workbench again without moving my boat forward out the the garage. Be sure to measure your trailer tongue so you order the right Fulton hinge. They have all sorts of models, from bolt on to weld on. I chose bolt. You need to have a very sharp half inch drill bit. Fulton supplies everything else. Also good to have a torque wrench to set the bolts at proper tightness. They have two model numbers for the same products which seemed strange to me. So, I called Fulton. Turns out one model number means it all comes in a box. The other number means it is sold in bulk to distributors but will come to you all the same but in a sealed plastic bag. Same exact product. Just a packaging difference. Still, I chose a box. Instructions are clear. Plus Fulton has step by step videos on the internet to show you how. Better own or borrow a reciprocating saw, but a very easy cut. MEASURE CAREFULLY . . . and then cut. You don't want an "Oops" on your trailer tongue, eh? One thing you should know. You need to mount your safety chains, back from the area where you mount the hinge. That necessitates buying more chain . . . for me that was 2 four foot lengths. Well worth the extra cost. If you tried to save money by mounting your safety chains in front of the hinge, what happens if the hinge parts at 70 mph on the highway? (Do not take that question as a bad rap on the product.) I don't expect it will come apart at all. Just a very safety conscious guy. The hinge itself is a very substantial piece of equipment. I have no worries with it at all. Took an evening to do the job. Not a mechanic. Just handy with tools. Took my time and enjoyed the process. Proud of the result. Order with confidence. (Full Disclosure: I don't work for Fulton or have stock in the company. I don't work for the company I bought this from. Just an honest review from a real customer. If I thought the product or the vender sucked, I'd tell you.)

WORKS GREAT
Great add-on if you need place recommend this unit my was 3x4 there are other sizes easy install with minimal tools I was able to swing about 30" of the tongue out of the way. Again great add-on

Quality product
Easy to install with a few tool. Chop saw made cutting the draw bar easy. Product was exactly as expected. Had a six month wait for availability but worth the wait
