First Time Drone User, Very Easy To Learn and Creates Breathtaking Content!
I have been waiting for DJI to create a Mini drone that included obstacle avoidance since the first Mini drone was released. This review is based on my experience with the drone after a total flight time of 24 hours. I have provided a quick pros and cons list followed by an expanded discussion. I recommend you reference the headers that are most relevant to you, given the length of this review. *A Quick Summary* Pros: -Weight -Geo-restrictions Built-in -Camera -Battery Life -Personalize Controller Setup Cons: -Binding of the Fly-away Refresh coverage -Sound of the controller -Durability of Propellers -Return to home ("RTH") Inconsistency -Obstacle avoidance -Runs Hot on Idle When Transferring Recordings -Inconsistent Transfer Speed Conclusion: But despite my four-star review given the outweighing con factors, the Mini Pro 3 is a great drone for beginners to learn how to fly while capturing breathtaking images that include a decent number of safety features. I recommend that new users purchase DJI’s 2-year Refresh warranty that includes fly-away coverage for $125. When writing this review, this can be bought within 48 hours of turning on your drone through DJI’s website. *Detailed Review of Features* Weight: The weight of DJI's Mini series can easily avoid registration in most jurisdictions and comes ready to fly out of the box. This is why I wanted my first drone to be under the 250g weight threshold to avoid registration and avoid obtaining a certification/license while I am still learning. You will see that opting for DJI's Fly More Kit Plus (extended range batteries) pushes you over this limit and may subject the user to the registration process. I suspect the DJI app would know that you have inserted the heavier-extended range batteries and would require you to enter your certification/clearance permit before taking flight. I truly am impressed by the weight of this drone. Even the controller is heavier than the drone itself! Geo-restrictions Built-in: From what I can tell, the DJI Fly app is robust and includes local geo-restrictions that may prevent you from taking off in a restricted area. I still use apps such as the B4UFly app to ensure that there are no local or temporary ordinances I may violate before taking off. But having geo-restrictions built into the app helps beginners who don’t understand the hazards a drone may cause to not fly in an area until it is safe. I am also certain this feature has something to do with DJI’s eventual remote ID to comply with any future FAA drone registration requirements. Camera: The camera on this drone is a BEAST! It takes breathtaking videos and pictures. You would expect the standard night shooting results on a camera when taking a video (though a word of caution when flying in low-light environments). However, night pictures using the 48mp camera easily capture the hidden scenery. The various pano settings also generate beautiful views regardless of time and makes you wish you were actually in the area observing everything below. Battery Life: Can I just say WOW! The battery life is very impressive. Even though I would like to purchase the Fly More Kit Plus to utilize the longer-flight time batteries, the extra weight would kick this drone out of the 249g range. Fortunately, DJI has done a fantastic job with its sub-250g batteries. The flight time always depends on conditions (e.g., wind), but I have averaged anywhere from 25-30 minutes in a single flight. Given how fast these batteries charge, having a few extra spares charging while you fly would give you unlimited flight time! Of course, ignoring the standard longevity of lithium batteries when discharged fully between cycles, haha. Personalize Controller Setup: The controller has on function button that can quickly change two settings that would normally take several clicks in the app to reach. Pressing this button once or twice in quick succession would trigger two different functions of your choice. In addition, the app has allowed me to flip the flight control of the joysticks. Growing up, I played many games where flying a plane was required. The default flight settings were inverted to what I am used two. I was very surprised that DJI included this feature which has made me learn to fly a drone easily. Binding of the Fly-away Refresh coverage: I purchased DJI’s 2-year Refresh Plan that includes fly-away coverage. But for some reason, the setup has always been confusing. The app appears to know that I have an active subscription because I needed to include my drone’s serial number when purchasing the plan. However, I am randomly stopped from taking off because my plan has unbounded from my drone, and I would have to restart the system before it would bind properly. I am sure this is an easy software fix, but I do not understand why the plan does not simply remain bound in-between some flights. Sound of the controller: The speakers on the controller are loud and grabs your attention. This is great when you are so caught up in the breathtaking views that you may miss important warnings like your drone is low on battery. However, there have been multiple occasions where I simply turn on my controller, which beeps continuously, even after the drone is connected. I have no idea why but it gets annoying very fast. There is no hard switch on the controller to silence this beeping, and restarting everything does not help. Eventually, it will go away unless there is something wrong with the drone. When you finally connect to the drone, you may finally see notifications that need your attention. The Durability of Propellers: Extremely poor! Be very careful when flying with imperfect props. The slightest divot may send your drone rolling during take-off. These props do not withstand even the slightest impact at all. I strongly recommend having extra spares on hand if you are a new pilot because you don’t want to run into another supply crunch. Having extra good props on hand will get you back in the air quicker, rather than waiting for days after ordering. Return to home ("RTH") Inconsistency: The GPS feature on these drones is great. You can visually see on the app how many drones are currently connected to your drone. However, if you use the RTH feature, BE VERY CAREFUL and watch it closely. You can still maneuver the drone after enabling RTH. So when your drone begins to descend on your neighbor’s roof instead of your driveway, gain some altitude and cancel RTH. Then manually land where you need. Simply put, DO NOT TRUST RTH. Obstacle avoidance: Unfortunately, the must-have feature I waited for before buying my first drone also falls under the con portion of my review. Recognizing the need to stay below 249 g, it would be difficult to include omnidirectional sensors. The Mini Pro 3 only has forward, backward, and down-facing obstacle avoidance sensors. This means flying it sideways or in orbit would expose a new user to the hazards of hitting an object if they are not watching the drone in the air as they should. Remember, there are NO side sensors for obstacle avoidance! Runs Hot on Idle When Transferring Recordings: DJI should implement sensors in the drone to turn off certain flight features, like the gimbal, when the drone's props are folded in. While transferring footage to my phone, the drone can run extremely hot because it is not air-cooled as it would when flying. Even when my props are folded, the power-hungry flight components are still being used. I normally stick my drone in front of a fan when I am transferring to cool it down. This method works, but I shouldn’t need to do it in the first place. Inconsistent Transfer Speed: The app offers a quick-transfer feature by allowing your phone to connect to the drone directly via WiFi. You can turn off the controller in this mode and get a theoretical transfer speed of 25 mb/s. But for some unknown reason, the transfer speed can get stuck at five mb/s or bounce between 5-10 m

Best Drone under $1,000
This is probably the best mini drone on the market. It features DJI’s newest technologies, such as O3 video transmission and long range, low noise propellers. The camera is amazing, with HDR and a Pro mode that allows manual adjustment of shutter, ISO, white balance, and focus. The 48MP mode is much clearer than the older 12MP standard. It will record up to 4K 60 fps video in non-HDR mode; to use HDR in videos you must record at 4K 30 fps or lower. The D-Cinelike color mode is another great feature previously unheard of in mini drones. The range and video transmission are excellent. The O3 provides a noticeable video transmission quality improvement over the older, but still impressive, OcuSync 2.0. Flying within line of sight, I have not had any issues with video reception. The regular battery has a respectable battery life, but the extended range battery (sold separately) is even more impressive. Note that this increases the weight over 250 grams. I highly recommend this drone. DJI is a well-respected brand, and they made an excellent product with the Mini 3 Pro.

Don't order the DJI RC-N1. order the DJI RC
I love the drone and its extensive capabilites. But, not the controller. Boy, did I make a mistake. I bought the package that includes the DJI RC-N1. I opted for this setup because I was saving some money and I had my iPhone for the screen. This was a mistake because I did not take into account how quickly my iPhone battery would deplete. I prepared for the power needed to fly the drone by buying extra batteries, but all the extra battery power is useless if I have to constantly recharge my iPhone. I should have bought the newer DJI RC controller. I am not satisfied with the controller I purchased, but if I upgrade to the newer one, it will cost me about $300 more. There doesn’t seem to be anyway for me to get credit for my current controller, to reduce the cost of buying the one I should have bought in the first place. Spend the extra money and buy the DJI RC controller. ***Update*** DJI Customer Service responded and informed me that there is a setting in the DJI Fly program, that allows some of the juice from the controller to offset that used by the iPhone. I am also waiting to hear if I can connect an external battery brick to the controller while using it, hopefully providing some charge to replace that being used. While this is a work around, I still stand by my statement that you should buy the DJI RC controller with the drone.

Absolutely great !
When I purchased the drone, I have had high expectations already but after using it I was even more surprised on how good this drone is ! Love it !

Fast shipping!!! I'd buy from this seller again.
So far it seems as everything is working, full review after I fully try the drone and it's feature!. the only downside so far is no warranty information.

Great drone
High quality and performs like no other. Pricey but worth it. Did NOT come with special charger so have to order separately or you won’t be able to charge batteries or controller.

Met and exceeded my expectations!
Make sure you purchase the upgraded controller. Attaching a large smart phone to the standard controller becomes a hastle, but functions just fine. Pics and videos are great.

Almost perfect imo
The only real dislike that I have is the data retrieval process. I spend the money on high speed class 3 storage, etc yet I can only transfer my files off the drone at 25MB/sec? Come on. Slowly trickling files over when I should be able to just rip them down a high speed USB cable. But no, let's force people to let their drones overheat down to their last battery % to transfer files over a weak ad-hoc wifi connection and let's not even let them charge the drone while it's transferring.

Best Drone for the money despite Amazon's style title mix-up on what controller (RC) you get !
Not flown mine yet (raining) but it looks the nuts. Just to help those confused by Amazon's Title & Style Name Mix up's on what Controller (RC) you get, I can help. After a Dozen or so calls to Amazon I managed to get an agreement by email that they have mixed up the titles on what RC you get on the DJI Mini 3 Pro. Amazon haven't changed the titles yet as of 21:22 18/12. To save others from that painful journey below is the correct info as of 21:22 18/12/22. (1) Style Name = Mini 3 (Pro DJI RC) = Page title and style name appears correct, you get the very nice DJI RC Remote RM330. (2) Style Name = DJI Mini 3 Pro (No RC) = The page title is not correct at it does not mention there is no RC & was meant for the next title name (3). Ignore the Tech details that is saying an RC is included it doesn't as per the style name ! not the page title. (3) Style Name - DJI Mini 3 = the Title page is 100% wrong as it was meant for number (2) DJI Mini 3 Pro (No RC) it actually comes with the RC -N1 standard controller pictured on the page with the correct part number in the tech section. The Amazon DJI store also confirms this but links to the incorrect Amazon page Title,

My everyday drone.
I have many drones, including the top of the range prosumer drone, the Mavic 3. This Mini 3 Pro is exceptional. Very lightweight and easy to carry around, unlike my Phantom 4 or indeed the Mavic 3, which are 2 of my larger drones. So if for some reason you don't manage to fly it, maybe because the weather turns against you, it's no big deal carrying it around, doesn't get in the way. Excellent camera quality. I have to say, on most occasions when just catching a quick video of something not to special, it can match the quality of the Mavic 3. Of course the Mavic 3 is better in many ways, but to get the best from the Mavic 3, there's lots of adjustments to the camera to make. The Mini 3 Pro is more or less set up for you and does a really good job. Battery life is very good, you'll be able to film more than you expect on one battery. Only downside is the range, that's a flaw with all DJI drones in CE countries, not just the Mini 3 pro. This is due to DJI having to lower the strength of the power from the controller to meet European standards.

The remote controller is included
The drone is obviously very impressive. The main reason I wanted to leave a review is to confirm that this does come with the standard controller (RC). This is the version without the built in screen as seen on the images. I'm not sure why the top line product description says "No RC" and "Remote Controller Sold Separately", this is wrong. This version does come with an RC included as shown in the images and as listed in the more detailed description below. My advice it to go for this option and save yourself £200 ! You do have to use your phone as a screen and download an app but it works just as well.
