Love this Martingale collar for strong dogs
This Martingale collar is of high quality and a top brand. We have used this type of collar for our Basset Hound for several years. This type of collar is perfect for the dog that likes to "back out" of their collar on walks. You can't go wrong with Red Dingo. This is an excellent alternative for a "choke" collar.

Well made & cute
I needed a martingale collar for a dog who can back out of a collar unless it is too tight. I also didn't want one of the wider collars for this girl- even tho she is 85lb the wider collar I had on her before was too much. Since there is no clasp remember to measure the widest part of their head rather than the neck. This collar would easily fit a larger than 85lb lab. I got the pink and the color was pretty true to the photo. I might have preferred it to be a little more pale but it is not bright or anything. The little dots on it are heart shaped but this is subtle so it's cute without being over the top in my opinion. The only thing I don't like is the black plastic on the slinding part. I feel it will be durable but metal would look nicer on the pink. Also the thickness of the webbing means it is a little bulky. I'm sure this makes it stronger but have had thinner webbing that is perfectly adequate for large dogs. This is just my preference. I would still recommend it to anyone!

Too thick under the adjustment buckles
I think that this collar is priced well, and it does look durable. I had to send it back because the black adjustment buckle that is shown on the left side of the first photo is about 1” thick with the collar material in it. It sticks up on the dogs neck and it drove my dog nuts, he was trying to move it around his neck.

Great collar for our greyhounds
The martingale collar has been recommended for dogs with heads the same size as their necks. I had looked for the continuous loop style without the plastic latch as this often a point of failure. This collar is sized accurately with an easy adjustment slide and is light enough that our dog hardly notices it being on.

SAFETY ISSUE-THERE'S NOT RELEASE BUTTON/CLASP
I love the way it looks. BUT it does NOT have a safety release. The Martingale Collar should be used for training only. But in the off chance, the collar becomes twisted or your pup gets their lower jaw caught, there's no way to quickly release the collar. Many have spoken about those happening to their dogs and some even have had this result in the unfortunate death of their pup. Once again I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH, MARTINGAL COLLARS ARE FOR TRAINING ONLY AND SHOULD ONLY BE WORN WHEN YOUR PUP IS UNDER CLOSE SUPERVISION. That being said, I prefer the Martingale Collar with a quick safety release. You just never know what can happen and prefer not to risk it. Sending this back.

Flimsy plastic adjustment band broke in first week
Great looking collar, matching leash. I thought that since the Red Dingo ID tag I purchased was high quality, the martingale collar would be, too. Unfortunately one of the plastic bands that hold the collar size adjustment in place broke in the first week. Now I have to readjust the collar a few times a day on my American Bulldog. NOT HAPPY. This collar, the way it is made with plastic bands instead of a tougher material, is not meant for bully dogs. It broke completely a couple of weeks after I first posted this review. I am very familiar with fitting a martingale collar. This is an inferior product.

You should get this
My dog is a very hyper dog. We have had her for about five months, and one thing we have learned, is that she turns into the hulk when she see a rabit or squirrel. She has broken two other collars already, but this one has been very strong. I don't have any complaints about it. I rarely give five stars, but this one deserves it.

Soft, yet stron
Very strong collar (I have the pulling dog to prove it). Yet the edges of the nylon are soft and don't wear off the fur, unlike the Lupine brand collars. Highly recommend. P.S. Do NOT ever leave a martingale collar on your dog when you are not with him...it can choke or strangle him if it gets caught on something. Yes, it DOES happen!
