Description says bronze. After about two years, it's got all kind of rust everywhere. It's iron!

Very nice looking in real life. Some assembly required. Good for outdoors. Bigger than most.

I don't know what others are saying when they say this fixture cannot be used outdoors. It is an outdoor fixture, the company says it is for outdoors, there is a picture of it being installed outdoors and no where in any of the instructions I got did it say that it was not for outdoors. About the only problem I had is the one of the pins that holds the glass in place snapped off. This thing comes without the glass installed (probably so it doesn't break during shipping). You need to install the glass panels by putting them in place and bending the clips to hold the glass in place. I had one pin snap on me when I bent it but the glass still seems secure. Unless you have a very skinny arm, to install the last panel, you need to remove the bottom bracket that holds the light socket. You have to decide how you want to install the glass panels. Do you want them all oriented the same way? Does the beveled edge go inside or outside. I experimented and found it look best by putting the side with the beveled glass edges facing out and alternating the orientation of the panels so one was right side up and the next was inverted from that. If you are going to install this on top of wooden post, or on top of concrete wall, as we did, Designers Fountain makes a matching base. There are also matching wall lights. Note that this thing is pretty big. It is bigger than most pole lights. It is 10" in diameter and it is 17" tall. The glass section is about 14" tall. I was worried about it how big it was but it turned out to be OK for where we put them. If you just want a subtle fixture, this isn't it.
