Concorde je nadzvukové osobné lietadlo poháňané prúdovým motorom, ktoré spoločne vyvinuli britská British Aircraft Corporation (BAC) a francúzska Aérospatiale na základe anglo-francúzskej zmluvy na začiatku 60-tych rokov. S prvým komerčným letom, ktorý sa uskutočnil v roku 1976, zostal v prevádzke 27 rokov. Bolo vyrobených len 20 Concordov, pričom len 14 lietalo komerčne, 7 British Airways a 7 Air France. Concorde použil 4 prúdové motory Rolls-Royce/SNECMA Olympus s prídavným spaľovaním, aby sa dostal na nadzvukovú rýchlosť, dosiahol rýchlosť 1 350 mph a letel rýchlosťou 2,0 Mach, čo je viac ako dvojnásobok rýchlosti zvuku. Lietadlo, ktoré meralo takmer 204 stôp na dĺžku s miestami pre 92 až 128 pasažierov, sa počas letu natiahlo o 6 až 10 palcov v dôsledku zahrievania draku lietadla. Lietalo tiež vyššie ako iné komerčné dopravné lietadlá a lietalo vo výškach približne 50 až 55 tisíc stôp. V tejto výške bolo možné vidieť zakrivenie Zeme a turbulencie vzduchu boli menšie, čo znamená menej hrboľatý let. Concorde zaznamenal svoju najrýchlejšiu cestu z New Yorku do Londýna 1. januára 1983, trvala 2 hodiny 56 minút. I it not a good purchase

The front landing gear broke off and the tail came off it's a poor model

Beautiful model

Nice color and detail. I ordered two; one sits at my desk at work and the other I suspended with 10lb test fishing wire in front of a map on my wall at home. Not a toy of course; it's a scale model. To-scale landing gear are tiny and will not withstand your kid bashing it around. My only complaints: QC is iffy and the peg on the mounting base doesn't hold the fuselage firmly enough, so it comes off too easily. To elaborate: on one of them, the landing gear is crooked and the gap between the wing and fuselage is small but noticeable. The other one I ordered had none of these defects.

Not for kids

Incredible detail and its weight speaks to its quality. One flaw is that the model will not fit securely to the top of the support arm. This is my third of these high end diecast models by Daron and the only one that has had this issue. Luckily, it looks just as well displayed sitting on the deployed landing gear.

Nice model suitable as a gift

Nice plane, nice packaging suitable for a gift. The model could be slightly more stable / robust (it leans a little to one side), but this is a detail.

Really nice quality

Great quality model! Looks very realistic and is the talk of my department. The base fits in well and holds it at a nice angle. I prefer to have my on the wheels though. (the wheels do not spin sadly) If you like the Concorde or British Airways then i would recommend this for sure.

A good model

Good model of the Concorde. THIS IS NOT A TOY! The nose is very pointed and can easily poke a small child so keep it away from children. The plane is a little slanted when put on the stand but other than that its a great representation of what could've been.

I've seen better...

Its a decent model, but the undercarriage is cheap plastic and really doesn't hold the weight of the piece. As for the stand - it is useless - it's plastic, the model is die cast metal - and it cannot hold the weight. If you want a model to sit on the stand rather than just on its wheels, buy another one.

Adding the stand to the aircraft

I would have given it 5 out of 5, but I am having trouble put the stand into the aircraft, is there a simple way to put it on the Concorde Aircraft. Appreciate your reply ... Lorna Sharf
