Felt great on

There was a staple coming out of the heel in the back of the shoe which drew blood when I touched it the heel looked to be be pulled away from the material on one side of the boot I would have kept these boots if I didn’t notice any of that but they were poorly made

Gorgeous and comfortable. Total winner from Frye!!!

Absolutely gorgeous!!! Initially I ordered the charcoal color, and while it was beautiful and rich taupe (ish) color, it wasn't what I was looking for, so I sent it back and ordered the metallic color. On first seeing it I thought it looked a bit blue metallic rather than a black metallic.and perhaps it wasn't going to work with my clothes, but when I put the boots on with grey slacks, they looked perfect (I pretty much have grey, black and blue slacks for work). They also look great with blue jeans and grey jeans. I mostly wear boot cut or skinny pants and jeans, and this boot looks great with both. I typically wear a size 8 in Frye, and the size 8 fit perfect with no insole and thin socks. They are very comfortable to walk in, and don't seem to need the break-in time that my other Frye boots have. The heel is a great walking height, the inside heel doesn't slip like other Frye boots do. The outside asymmetrical zipper is very unique and cool. Beware, the toe area is narrow for those of you with wide feet, you may need a boot stretcher for these. I'm waiting for the Wine color price to go down so I can buy that one also.

When I received the shoes I noticed that the box was a tad bit damaged. When I open the box I noticed that the boots had previously been worn. There was no tag from the freight company attached to the boots. There was Reminence I have a little dirt on the bottoms of the boots that had been cleaned some what. All in all I like to the appearance of the boots. The color red is a lot darker than I thought it would be and it is closer to a dark brownish red. It was a little difficult trying to put the boots on with the side zipper. They fit a little narrower than most fry boots I’ve purchased in the past in the same size. I will definitely have to Purchase boot stretchers in order to wear these boots comfortably. All in all the books look very nice the leather is really nice and thick.

Each color has its own fit

I originally ordered these in the black multi with brushed silver and found them to be very tight and stiff. I could not understand reviewers who called these “buttery soft,” and even sizing way up didn’t help. When I was returning them, I saw that the Pewter Cut color had gone on a huge sale, so I decided to give them a try, not thinking they’d work out. They are like a different shoe! I usually wear a 7 1/2 - 8, and given my first experience, I’d only ordered the 8, but now they were roomy! The leather on this pair is soft and comfortable, as other reviewers described. I kept them. They are breaking in well. Still a bit loose at the back of the shoe, but I like thick socks in winter, so the extra room is ok. Moral: try different colors, as they fit quite differently!

Good looking but not durable

The boots look amazing, are comfortable and are made with nice leather. The finish on the leather is not shiny, it is more of a soft sheen. The only negative, which other reviewers mentioned and I hoped was an isolated problem was the soles. After about 20 uses, of light indoor and limited outdoor wear (shopping, etc) the tips of the soles at the front of both boots started to separate. A real disappointment given the brand and price point. Unfortunately I am past the return timeframe so I am going to try repair from a cobbler. As good as these boots look, and they are good looking, I would not recommend based on the durability issue.

Sleek and sharp.

I love Frye boots. The make quality boots that seem to get better with time. In most shoes I buy an 11 however in Fryes I buy 10 because they do give. I have slim ankles and narrow feet, this low cut boot is, as I expected, is perfect for me. I saw this style at a department store but they didn't have Charcoal in my size. I was concerned when I ordered if it would match the color in the store because on the picture it look much darker. When they came I was pleased that it was the silverish gray I was hoping for.

Great boots

Comfortable right out of the box. I would say these are more of a stream line boot. Not bulky at all. Love the plum color and goes with many things. Can't beat Amazon price . I stand on my feet for 12hours a day and these are like walking on clouds. Very happy with the purchase. The zipper isn't bright either so I feel like these can be causal and can be really dressy too. They have a slim fit by the ankle FYI if this should be a trouble spot for you.
