Good value, especially for hard to find Matte Black
For the price, this unit can't be beat! My local Lowe's and Home Depot do not carry any black door knobs of any kind in stock so I bought this to match the other passage and privacy door knobs from Copper Creek that I already bought and installed previously. I had to send back the first shipment as the interior knob was missing a piece. The replacement came quickly and had the proper piece in place. The installation instructions are not the best but mechanically inclined people should be able to troubleshoot most installation issues, unless you had the same problem I did. Also, the bolt securing the bottom of the handle that goes through the door is too long for my door resulting in not a very tight fit, however I used a shorter passage knob bolt I had from leftover Copper Creek installs that fit perfectly. I could not get the long bolts that secure the interior handle to the exterior handleset into the holes without scratching the interior handle (they are about an inch too long) but again, I used shorter bolts that I already had to complete the install. These issues may not be worth the hassle to you, but since I already own 13 other Copper Creek Colonial privacy and passage door knobs, this handleset matched perfectly and I was able to make everything work. All knobs, handles, and accessories are working wonderfully at this point, but I will update my review if they ever stop working before the warranty period expires. For those of you wondering, it is possible to re-key this and all locking knobs and deadbolts in the Colonial series by yourself. Pick up a Kwikset re-key kit and you should be able to get the job done fairly quickly, if you're patient, and so inclined.

Solid construction, great customer service.
The handleset seems to be solidly constructed, and looks nice. Installation was about what I expected. We purchased this handleset to replace one (from a different manufacturer, who has since gone out of business) with a failed mechanism. I was able to use the existing holes for the deadbolt, knob, and latches, and only had to drill a new hole for the bottom screw. Copper Creek's customer service is very responsive. When our handleset arrived, the interior trim kit had become separated from the package. I contacted Copper Creek, and they responded within the day with instructions on how to file a claim (which was a painless process). They shipped the new interior pack immediately, and it arrived within a couple of days.

Beautiful, Nice Quality, One major flaw
Love the way this handle looks on our client's brand new mahogany door. Install went smoothly, however we have reason to believe the handle part had the wrong spindle part, as when you press down on the thumb lever from the exterior, it doesn't move the part that latches and unlatches the door, so alas you can't open the door at all when it's closed from the exterior, you can only open it from inside the house. I'm hoping this review will be responded to so I can receive a replacement part and update my 3 stars to 5! I will also add photo s to update as well! Thanks, Copper Creek!

Nice for the money
This set looks great installed but not best quality. Not sure how long it will last. I’ve had it installed for about 2 months and works fine. I think it is worth the money and as mentioned looks expensive installed.

Good look, tough install
I love the look of this knob! It was really hard to find a black doorknob for a reasonable price. Most of them are an antique brushed bronze but this one is straight matte black and it looks amazing. It WAS difficult to install, as stated in other reviews. The directions were very unclear but my husband was able to figure it out in the end. Just stick with it because you will be please with the look.

4 hours and still not installed
I like the look and feel of this set, but installation was so difficult that I gave up and went to my local hardware store for a different knob set. The interior piece that fits into the rectangular holes did not look like the installation pictures. It did not have a grooved side to catch in the indoor knob, and it wasn’t long enough to reach both knobs. When I pressed the lever, it only turned 1/4 of the way, not enough to be able to open the door. I don’t know if I had a wrong piece, or if I was doing something wrong. I wish it could have worked out because I really did like the set.

Very well made. Purchased four sets.
I ordered one set just to see what they where like. It pretty much matched up to my old ones except I had to drill out the door to 1" which for me is no big deal. after all the ones I where replacing where 20 years old brass. easy to install and so I purchased 3 more sets. did not disappoint. good quality. Hard to beat the price. would recommend to friends. They look so great inside and out.

Accidentally broke the handle on our door and needed the exact model to match
we accidentally broke our door handle on the door that we had installed during the build of our house, due to this shape and design I figured the best thing to do was to replace it with the same make and model. I was able to get one and have it delivered within days. the instructions were simple and easy to follow.

good quality - can be difficult to install
nice style, very good finish. Overall quite happy with this. I've installed dozens of door knobsets, and this particular one has a unique (in my experience) internal pin (the part that connects both handles through the latch, and turns the actual latching mechanism) . It swivels where any other ones I've used are solid so it takes a few attempts to get it positioned exactly right for it to work. Not a good design but once you finally get it to work you'll be pleased with it.
