Bud Aluminum Chassis 12" x 8" x 3"

Exact size that I needed. Aluminum, easier to work with. I think Bud is constructed a little better than hammond, but they are both okay.

An Amazing Aluminum Chanssis

This company makes the best Aluminum Chassis we've seen, they carry all kinds of sizes and shapes. A really cool Aluminum chassis that may be used for most any project.

Box ok, recommended cover doesn't match.

Nothing wrong with the chassis, but Amazon recommends BUD Industries BPA-1519 Aluminum Chassis Bottom Plate as the cover for this box. The pre-drilled holes between that cover and this box do not match.

Turned out well

I was very happy to find that this box was square, rigid, and sealed enough (with no daylight in the corners) to function as a low profile lighting bracket for the back of a police motorcycle. I should have roughed up the finish before priming and painting instead of just degreasing, but that's no fault of the product. This was priced similarly to other plastic project boxes of the same size, and all I did to make it waterproof was add a foam tape gasket between the box and lid. I'm happy with how it turned out.
