Very large
Very nice. It's huge. Massive and heavy. I'm totally fine with it. Ain't nobody stealing my bike again. A bit overkill though lol.

Good lock, good chain
Good lock, good chain. I like the noose feature. It does get to be a bit of a hassle to thread the ring, but the only way around it would be to buy two locks which would obviously cost more and I'm not sure would be less hassle. I lived in a small apartment in a moderate crime area, outdoor bike storage was my only option. About a month after acquiring this lock and "noose" chain, someone attempted to defeat it to steal two bikes. I think they attempted to hacksaw through the chain which left narry a scratch. They did attempt the same on the lock shackle and succeeded in scratching off the black paint. Some (hammer?) blows to the lock only broke off the plastic barrel cover. Pick attempt resulted in breaking the tip of the screwdriver (which they left behind) off inside the barrel and ultimately failed. The system succeeded in securing my bike against this attack. Thumbs up, for that. HOWEVER, either due to the broken screwdriver tip jamming in the barrel mechanism, or damage to the mechanism itself, I was unable to fully insert the key and unlock it. I fiddled for quite some time with no success and finally called Kryptonite to explain the problem. The customer service rep was extremely helpful and promptly told me to cut off the lock and ship it back and they'd send me a new one. I used a wide (1/4", I think) cutting disc, but recommend the 1/8" ones if you need to do this as the wide one had to remove so much material it took a long time. Maybe eight to ten minutes per cut, and I did have to cut it twice to get the bike free. I sent the lock to Kryptonite and after just a couple weeks I received a new Evolution 4 Series Disc Lock, with carry holster and reminder cable. So, in short: great security for the price and 5-STAR customer service from Kryptonite, but I'm disappointed this type of lock cylinder can be damaged so easily. Given that this disc lock isn't really large enough to secure directly to the bike frame (with the exception of chain/seat stays), in the future I'll probably get a high security padlock to secure the chain to itself. There are better security chains, but they cost much, much more and will still fall to a grinder. After much research, here's my assessment: this noose chain from Kryptonite probably cost me about $50 bucks as part of the system and is very close to being impenetrable with hand tools. A strong person with quality four foot bolt cutters and something to pry against could cut it, but it wouldn't be easy. Stronger chains that are 100% impenetrable with hand tools are much heavier and cost four to six times the amount, but they could still be cut quite easily with power tools. So, I could pay half the value of my bike for a chain for slightly higher security, but in the event the chain gets cut and the bike stolen, insurance would cover the loss of the bike. I'm not sure insurance would cover the loss of the nearly-as-expensive-chain. Frankly, if a thief knew what was what, that expensive chain could actually be a target (i.e. cut the lock and steal the bike AND the chain). I decided that this Kryptonite chain is a "reasonable" degree of security that doesn't go overboard for my current needs.

Excessive
If I was using my bike as primary transportation in an urban center, this lock would be ESSENTIAL. However, I'm commuting to and from my office parking garage in the suburbs and carrying this thing around is excessive. It's very heavy, very thick, and unwieldy. Buy this if you live in NYC. Skip it if youre in a quiet suburb with low crime.

Secure, but bulky and heavy
Never seen it in-person, I got the Kryptonite New York chain Model 1213. This chain is bulky and heavy, weights 9.16lbs on my scale. It is not a chain you can carry with you, except like in a bag on a touring bike. It seems secure - either the thief will have to pick the lock or cut whatever this chain is looped through.

Most bike locks can be defeated, but the Kryptonite 1213 is a better deterrent
Bike theft is a all to common reality. I suggest that if you are considering to buy a lock, that you should first view on YouTube how easily locks and chains can be defeated. I have noticed that most people who lock their bikes use light weight locks and neglect to lock both wheels. That being said, I feel that bike thieves pick the bikes that are the easiest targets. I don't want to be an easy target. I chose the Kryptonite New York Noose 1213 Bicycle Chain Lock to lock the entire bike and wheels at the same time, therefore creating a more challenging target and hopefully posing a deterrent to a potential thief. This lock and chain is 10.5 pounds, knowing this I put a 10 pound weight in my back pack and tested how it would effect me on my bike. Having an e-bike so it's not much of an issue. I purchased the 1213, because the effective chain length of a noose is greater than chains that can't be noosed. My only other option over the 1213 would to buy two or three quality small U-locks. I really didn't want to spend $80- on something that didn't improve my performance and was heavy and cumbersome. On the other hand who wants to have that awful feeling when they have found that their bike has been stollen and that they could have done more to protect it?

A lock I actually think will protect my bike
I’ve always been a big fan of kryptonite locks. While this lock is heavy - I’m using it for ebike and I wanted something heavy duty. This lock is solid, looks good, has the case over the chain to not scratch your bike. It comes with two keys one with the light and one regular key. I also got the extended insurance through kryptonite and registered the key for replacement in case I lose it which is always a nice feature.

Heavy, but versatile
The cinch style is very useful, but it is a VERY heavy/bulky chain. My husband uses it to lock his bike up at work but I’m not sure it’s feasible for carrying around on leisure rides unless you have a bag to stow it in. That being said, the quality is amazing and the warranty/insurance program is a nice bonus (there is a small fee involved).

Go ahead -steal my bike - I dare you
My wife is in love with her bike. Taking it along with mine on our camper van is a must. There is little chance some thief will be willing to try to cut this lock/chain. We wrap the circle end around our bumper hitch frame and securely lock the wife’s bike. I only wish that it was about 12-14” longer so I can include mine in the lockup.

Good choice
Bit heavy to carry around but I use to transport around on my rucksack only if going somewhere and leave it outside a short while , looks good and secure and feel better leaving this on my bike rather than other locks .
