Not big enough for frame and tire

Sturdy lock with good reputation but the 6” is not big enough to enclose both the bike frame and rear tire. Go bigger.

Seems like decent quality, compact, key is finicky at times.

I haven't actually needed to use this yet as I rarely leave my bike out of my sight. It seems like a pretty decent design and it is lightweight. My only issue thus far is that the key sometimes doesn't go all the way into the keyhole and it can be frustrating when you are trying to unlock the bike. Not sure if this is just a faulty key or a characteristic of this model lock.

Solid. Light. Convenient Lock (get the mount kit to complete the setup!)

This is a great little lock that came highly rated on a few external bike specialist sites. One of the reviews was a side by side comparison of competing products, subjected to the highest pressures using machines that simulated the most common methods thieves use to break locks. NOTE: To complete this setup you will want to get the Abus mounting kits parts that fit this lock. It comes in two parts: 1) ABUS Shackle Clamp for 640 U Lock - 2) ABUS TexKF-Mini Lock Carrier. It was a bit confusing to nail down exactly what parts would work for this lock....also, finding a supplier on here that carried them that would deliver them in a reasonable time frame during Covid era. (try lockitt). The lock mounts perfectly on my Trek DS2 with the above setup. Also note that once you have the shackle (part the fits on the U bar of the lock) - you will have to shave some of the vinyl off the bar to get the shackle far enough up on the bar (at first it won't seem to fit, you'll see what I mean once you have the shackle and try to get it on. Its very easy to cut the vinyl away with a box knife.

Key is finicky

Lock is nice and sturdy, but the lock often gets stuck when turning the key. I usually have to attach and reattach the bottom part multiple times until the key can actually turn all the way to unlock or lock.

GREAT lock, but be prepared for smaller compact design!

Doesn't fit around every bike rack. Just be aware that it's a smaller lock and it will be nearly impossible to lock both a wheel and the frame to the bike rack or post at the same time. But I do love this lock.

Compact lock with reletively good security

Keeps honest people honest. But don't count on this for complete security, an angle grinder can cut through the shackle in a minute or three. The lock is pretty good though can be picked a less than a minute by an expert, that is unlikely. It is small as well so you have to lock it up tight and unlike my larger Abus only one bike can be locked with this one. It is read and that matches my bike, a nice fashion statement.

It's great, but one little thing -

this is not a cheap lock, I expect it to come with a mount. Even trying to contact ABUS multiple times did not help, they have no idea which mount would work with it which is very weird. Bike shop ordered 3 parts from them and none fit. frustrating. except those - AWESOME PRODUCT. the red one is very pretty and lightweight (relatively). take in consideration that it's small and you'd need to find an appropriate poll to lock it to.

Small u lock used to secure rear wheel to frame

Handy and reasonably light used in conjunction with another locking device for front wheel and frame. Two locks provide you with more time. It is a tight fit which should mean it cannot be easily worked on. I oil the lock with sewing machine oil and grease the locking splines. It is plastic covered so as not the scratch th bike frame and make it difficult for bolt cutter jaws to work. If you lose the keys you can order a replacement.

Light weight, very strong.

Light weight, very strong. Small diameter but thats what I was looking for. Love the Abus Granite lock range. Key unlock was a little fiddly at first but fine now.

A Brilliant Lock

Brilliant, just what I wanted. This complements the Abus Granit XPLUS, I already have. It is relatively light and compact, perfect for securing my rear wheel to the bike frame.

Wonderful

Compact but strong, this is a quality product. The plastic around the U also protects the paint on my bike. Fits on the frame and easy to take on and off. Also light enough so you are not lugging too much extra weight around. Highly recommended.

Tolles Schloss!

Bei meiner Suche nach einem neuen (relativ leichten und sicherem) Bügelschloss bin ich auf dieses Schloss gestoßen. Ich finde, die rote Farbe kontrastiert sehr schön zu meinem grünen Bike. :-) Es ist mit mir schon durch Matsch und über staubige Trails gefahren ..., Abspritzen mit Wasser, trocknen und mit einem leicht öligen Lappen die Bügelenden abwischen - schon ist es wieder einsatzfähig. Bei mir rostet nichts! Es nimmt auch kaum Platz in Anspruch. Zwar ist es nicht besonders schön, dass es keinen Halter hat. Doch dem kann man schnell und für wenig Geld mit dem KlickFix Rahmenadapter mit Bügelschlosshalterung abhelfen: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B001F101KC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Ich bin jedenfalls sehr zufrieden damit!
